by Ficina Many thanks for your replies, ladies. All very interesting Susie, I'm sorry you're still confused about the odds but maybe, as you say, sometimes you're better off not knowing! Deb, I'd been wondering why you went 2-0 for Chelsea but 2-1 for Portsmouth so thanks for explaining that. I thought both games would be quite close so I went for 2-1 for both of them, so at least I got one right! I think I sometimes get more confused because I know about football and astrology. I can see how useful it could be to have a set of scores that you can adapt to the astrology, rather than starting with a blank canvas as it were. I do look at the pundits' predictions on some of the websites but I do that after I've written down my own. Otherwise they tend to sway me from what I originally thought and I keep changing my mind! 10 minutes?? Well, I take a lot longer than that but I suppose that's because I do a lot of back-checking both football and astrologywise. Fortunately I have the time to do it and, as Susie often says, it is fun - with or without the Sangria Quote Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:34 pm
by Deb it is fun - with or without the Sangria Ficina, believe me, when you've had a bucket full of Sangria, predicting the football results is a real hoot! Quote Mon Oct 06, 2008 5:42 pm

I let him make his football predictions and then I adapt these to include the astrological themes that I am aware of, seeing the whole chart as relevant to the home team. Let's say he predicts a 2-1 win for the home team, but the chart shows themes of disappointment or sorrow, I'll change that to a 2-2 draw. If the chart is really bad I go against his prediction. This sounds like a happy marriage, but you seem to be giving your husband a tough time... http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon Oct 06, 2008 7:54 pm

Therefore I vote, that Deb's husband goes out on loan to all of us, perhaps on a rotating basis, for the common good of the Skyscript team. He will receive payment in kind - as much Sangria as he can hold So, what say you all??? Quote Tue Oct 07, 2008 6:11 am

by Ficina Don't forget we have an extra batch of games to predict this week. One tonight and nine tomorrow night. Good luck, team! Quote Tue Oct 28, 2008 5:49 pm
by Ficina Aargh! I've just been to the Guardian site to enter my predictions for tonight, only to discover that they had the Bolton/Everton game listed as being played yesterday. I think it was originally scheduled for Tuesday but it's actually at 8pm tonight. So it's automatically logged my prediction as the default 0-0 I was intending entering 2-1 to Everton (just for the record) but now I suppose I'll be happy if it's a draw! 56 by yuzuru I know how you feel... just the other day I noticed a mistake, "oh, team X will aspect fortuna, they will win", but the system didn?t register my change of mind, so I didn?t get my point :-( Meu blog de astrologia (em portugues) http://yuzuru.wordpress.com My blog of astrology (in english) http://episthemologie.wordpress.com Quote Wed Oct 29, 2008 7:44 pm
by Andrew Bevan Bolton - Everton 0-1! Ficinia, my heart goes out to you! But Arsenal - Tottenham 4-4!! What on Earth were the odds for that result!!? Some scorelines deserve more points than others.... Ouch! http://www.astronor.com Quote Wed Oct 29, 2008 10:05 pm
by Ficina Sweet of you Andrew, thanks It's only one point but I'm desperate for points at the moment. Looks like your family are doing well, Deb. I see the name Houlding on the league leaderboard Quote Thu Oct 30, 2008 9:23 am
by Deb Ahh, I think I know who that is! I am in a league with my husband and son, and we're doing quite well, but that's not us. We have 72 points so we're at 44th position. The leaderboard for teams is currently only showing some of the 44th position teams, so if we had 1 more point we would be on it. To bring you up to date on my chaotic efforts - the week my husband said I had to create the predictions first, I did very badly - maybe 5 or 6 points. And in that week he did the best ever. I think he got 15 points. Then last week I just fiddled with two of his scores and picked up some extra points. At the moment we are both at exactly the same score. I've just incorporated some astro-themes into his predictions so one of us is going to do a lot better than the other this weekend, and it's going to be a make or break point for my astrology claim. Unfortunately my transits don't look good and to be honest, I feel as if I've been very lucky lately. I'm supposing that the lucky run is about to come to an end Quote Fri Oct 31, 2008 11:26 am
by Ficina It seems that sometimes it's better to enter no predictions at all! Anyone who forgot or didn't bother to enter their predictions this weekend would have automatically got 10 points yesterday Quote Sun Nov 23, 2008 10:15 am
