Macedonia - Norway, 17.45 CST, Skopje 42N00 21E26
Odds: 2,75 3,15 2,55
Asc 18SC53 MC 0VI49 Moon 3SG45 POF 6TA34
Day Saturn, Hour Mars (cusp Sun) - radical
It's an open game, but Norway are marginal favourites. Venus, L7, is trine MC. May the Norwegians secure valuable points?

Here is a chart that makes no sense:
Iceland - Netherlands, Reykjavik 19.45 BST, 64N09 21W51 ? 090606IC
Odds: 8,50 4,60 1,36

Aserbajdsjan ? Wales, 17.00 CST Baku
Odds: 3,35 3,35 2,05
Asc 3SG10 MC 19VI06 Moon 3SG22 POF 20TA29
Day Saturn, Hour Sun/Venus.
Seeing that the hour is on the cusp to the next, I jugde the moment as void and move the result away from the favourites. The home teams are underdogs. Moon is on the Asc. This could just be Aserbajdsjan's day.

I would hope so, especially as it's a partile trine which is usually reliable. (One exception was 2008 CL final which was a draw after 90 mins, but I'm beginning to think finals are a law unto themselves!)

Re Iceland/Holland
I think your program hasn't adjusted for the hour difference. Perhaps you would check? Local time in Reykjavik is 18.45, giving Asc of 6?42 Scorpio.

I'll have a look at the third chart tomorrow.

Thank you, Finica! You are right regarding the game in Iceland.
Well, I said that the chart didn't make sense.
I have deleted the wrong chart. Here are the correct details:

Iceland - Netherlands, Reykjavik 19.45 BST, 64N09 21W51
Odds: 8,50 4,60 1,36
Asc 6SC42 MC 2VI44 Moon 5SG17 POF 25TA47
Day Saturn, Hour Jupiter/Mars
MC trine Pluto. POF sextile the fortune Jupiter.

This game is more interesting, astrologically:

Uzbekistan ? Japan, 15.05 BST, Tashkent 41N16, 69E13
Odds: 3,70 3,35 1,95
Asc 7SG10 MC 25VI11 Moon 2SG54 POF 24TA04
Day Saturn, Hour Venus ? same powers as Jupiter, L1?
Mercury is L10 + L7 and located at 24TA27 conj POF. Japan are both favourites and guests, so I interpret Mercury's position to mean that the guests get it. Mercury, L7, is trine MC. Uranus is opposite MC, but I think the other testimonies should predominate.

This is adding up to quite a few charts - but the teams I find most interesting to follow from an astrological perspective are Norway, Japan and Aserbajdsjan.

Re Azerbaijan/Wales
Mercury being both L7 and L10 is a strong testimony for Wales, especially as they are faves. Moon conj Asc is very inconsistent in my experience. It doesn't always favour the home team. Azerbaijan haven't managed to score a goal yet in this competition (although there's always a first time of course!). I think the best they can hope for is a draw.

That's interesting. I noticed that Wales was ruled by Gemini (Bills). Because of this, I wonder whether the Moon in Sagittarius is a detriment for them. I think that the hour being on the cusp of one rulership to the next is an indication that supports your idea of a split decision - but this hasn't been consistent either. I have moderated my opinion on this testimony to something that can move the result away from the favourite.

In the Iceland - Netherlands game the planetary hour is on the change at the same time as Mars, L1, and Venus, L7, are cadent. The Venus/Mars midpoint is trine the MC. Maybe this could bring about an unexpected draw. A lot of people will be taking for granted that the Netherlands win. Probably wise to go careful on this one. :???:

I've given your ideas on the Azerbaijan/Wales game some very careful thought, Ficina. I will join you on the draw. I think that the luminary angular emphasises the favourite, but there is a contradiction with the Moon in Sag. that could prevent Wales from winning. Together with the other testimonies - a draw seems the most likely option.

I have also gone for a draw between Iceland and the Netherlands as an outside possibility.

Yes, that's interesting too.

I was somewhat perturbed to read that Wales have many key players out with injuries. I'm wondering to what extent (if any) these types of non-astrological factors should be taken into consideration. Wales are being forced to field several youngsters. The fact that they are Mercury is an apt description so perhaps this is how it fits in astrologically.

I have cases on record where Olympic atheletes didn't stand to start when the Moon was opposing their Sun sign.

Tunisia - Mozambique, Rade 44N50 20E27
Odds: 1,33 4,30 8,75
Asc 27SC23 MC 8VI55 Moon 4SG23 POF 15TA39
Day Saturn, Hour Sun ? radical same powers Mars (=home)
POF trine Saturn in the 10th should win it for the home team and favourites. Jupiter, L4, is square Asc but below horizon and according to the classical aphorism 'without power'.

No. This gave me close to nothing.

Tunisia - Mozambique 2-0 :'
Uzbekistan - Japan 0-1 :'
Makedonia - Norge 0-0
:(

Two good matches, but when Norway let the side down my combinations failed. The planetary hour being on the change is not reliable. It is like a change of watch with all the guards being caught on the middle of the bridge. A draw it was...

Underdogs:
Aserbajdsjan - Wales 0-1 :,
I went for an outside result moving the result away from the Welsh favourites - preferably a draw. Aserbajdsjan apparently had ball posession most of the game, but were toothless. Nope! Ficina made a good point!

Iceland - Netherlands 1-2
The victory for the favourite can be argued by POF aspect Jupiter. This did not pass unnoticed. However, I chanced Iceland managing a draw. Wrong again. :?

Result not satisfactory. Main reason - Norway failing against Makedonia. Using astrology did not provide the upper hand today. The planetary hour on the change moves the result away from the favourite, causes draws or may be unpredictable.

Let's check on this evenings game:
Mali verses Ghana, 21.00 CST and compare it with yesterdays game between Aserbajdsjan and Wales 0-1. Here Wales were favourites and the Moon was on the ascendant without helping the home team. In this evenings game the Moon is once more on the ascendant:

Asc 18SG49 MC 22VI42 Moon 17SG31 POF 19GE11
Day Sun, Hour Jupiter - radical.
We are only just past the full Moon, and the Moon here is in a state of destruction according to Lilly (within 2 degrees of the opposition of the Sun). Mali are favourites, the chart is radical - but I want to see whether the ill condition of the Moon helps Ghana. POF close the Sun on the cusp of the 7th.

Algeria - Egypt, 21.30 CST
Asc 23SG39 MC 12LI39 Moon 17SG46 POF 24GE15
Hour Jupiter. This game I try aloting to the favourites, Egypt. Jupiter is trine POF. The dispute is: Jupiter L1 with POF located on the 7th.

Mali - Ghana 0-2 :)

Algeria - Egypt 3-1!! I missed this one. See my notes on Jupiter's trine to POF. Egypt were favourites and would have won if the game was played at a neutral ground. However, here Algeria are the home team and Jupiter is connected to the home team before favourite because of the L1 connection. It makes perfect sense!

Compare with notes/comments at 07.40 pm on the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Everton on May 30:
My opinion is that if the game is played on a neutral ground, then POF is the favourite. Judge by the quality of aspect and nature of planet, whether fortune or infortune, that comes closest to POF only. Do not attach any meaning such as gathered from L1 or L7. Save these for when the is a home team and guest.
