by mattG Does that mean we can start panicking now? Looking at the report is seems to be saying that people around the world get flu. I am not heading for my underground bunker just yet. Matthew Quote Fri Jun 12, 2009 2:52 pm

by MikeCoop Hi you've got to wonder about late Spring/early Summer next year, when Mars will be opposing the Jupiter/Neptune pair in AQU and Uranus will be moving into its square with Pluto (although thankfully still out of sign). Surely that could be a tricky period in relation to this flu pandemic??? mike c Quote Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:26 pm

by mattG Here in Britain the Health Secretary is warning us of thousands of new cases every day in August and people are buying Tamiflu on the net but some of it is fake. As a virgo I love these health scare stories and straight away cast a horary to see if it was true or not. With the Moon angular fixed and its dispositor fixed as well there may be some truth to it but it still does not mean mass plague pits. I shan't be wasting my cash on dodgy tamiflu. I gather that mums here are exposing their children to others who are infected so they gain some immunity now in case it gets serious in autumn. I will do a mundane analysis of plague shortly. 54 by mattG The kind folk at Renaissance Astrology have sent me a book called "London's Deliverance Predicted" by John Gadbury. They knew a thing about plague and pestilence in those days. According to him you need to see Mars and Saturn conjoined and configured in Earthy or firy signs or humane forms. For a high body count they need the assistance by conjunction, opposition or square, of Jupiter. I cannot see that applying to the fall equinox chart so I have downgraded my prognostication from "You are all doomed" to "You are all going to die someday but probably not from Swine Flu. This means my fallout shelter has an overstocked freezer and wine cellar but never mind. With Mars on the ascendant there is bound to be something to worry about. Matt Quote Fri Jul 03, 2009 10:40 am
by Tom I think Tom will find this interesting: Sorry Yuzuru, I missed this last month when it was posted. Perfect. One of the problems in addition to agenda driven news, is the fact that we live in a 24 hour per day news show era. These, primarily, TV shows have to fill air time or they lose money, so a periodic health scare will appear now and again usually at propitious moments. For example, tomorrow is Independence Day in the US. Traditionally people will cook hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill at home or at picnics. What is the health scare of the moment? Well there is a recall of ground beef, the stuff of which hamburgers are made. My very own normally sensible sister-in-law is worried about buying ground beef for tomorrow's festivities. I told her the time to worry is if you bought and consumed the suspect food prior to the recall, not after it had been removed from the shelves. But there are somber faced reporters and reporterettes warning us of writhing pain, agonizing deaths and body bags for our children because of a minute number of illnesses perhaps caused by defective meat. No burgers on the grill for you this Fourth of July Mr. and Mrs America. Eat carrots. The more reflective of the nation will note that this particular swine flu epidemic is a good thing. Yes I said good thing. It's not good that it happened. If it had to happen, it's good that it happened now. In the grand scheme of things it is not that serious, although it is serious for people who have genuinely suffered as a result, but mercifully they are very few compared to the entire population. It's a good thing because the more serious flu season begins in the fall and now there is time to prepare for it. There is sufficient time to manufacture and distribute vaccine to the most vulnerable of the population when it will do the most good. Hospitals and clinics can prepare for increased admissions; doctors' offices can prepare for increased activity. Yes people will still get sick and tragically some people will die. But this is not the 17th century, and end is not nigh, at least not from the flu. Tom Quote Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:06 am
by mattG To be fair to our politicians they are trying to be straight with us and vaccines are being made as fast as possible. They also counsel against the so-called "Swine flu parties" I mentioned. Tom, whatever is on the grill enjoy the 4th July and likewise other stateside skyscribes Matt Quote Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:09 pm

This does sum up what appears to be a collective growth crises: Finding out how to deal with problems, attract the public interest and get relevant information out to everyone in the right fashion. The collective doesn't neccessarily deal with information and problemsolving in an educated manner. There is the need to create some sort of alertness, awareness and involvement, or else everyone just tends to sit on their back sides. http://www.astronor.com Quote Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:36 am
by Andrew Bevan I am reprinting a modified version of a post I previously entered under the thread on the recent Solar eclipse of July 22. This is, as we know, the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century and this eclipse may surely be considered important for that reason. However, my explanation for reprinting my observations on this eclipse here is the way in which it can be related to the current outburst of the Swine Flu. This, does in my opinion, relate to the Saros: Saros Series and the Swine Flu: The solar eclipse of July 22. 2009 belongs to a Saros Series initiated on June 22. 1360 at 06.11 GMT (or on June 14. 1360 according to the Gregorian calendar). A Saros Series is a family or sequence of related eclipses that reoccur in a predictable pattern of eclipses that reoccur in a period that stretches over a thousand years. According to Chaldean theorem the eclipse that initiates and 'gives birth' to the Saros series should be given particular attention since the qualities and meanings that lie latent within this eclipse are passed on to later occuring eclipses belonging to the same cycle. The Saros series that started on June 22. 1360 is labled as 11S by Jansky, which means that it occured at the Moon's South node and that the family of eclipses started as a minor partial solar eclipse at the Earth's South Pole. The eclipse family follows a pattern that gradually travels northward as the Saras series unfolds. The partial eclipses eventually develop into a series of total eclipses that cast their shaddows on the Earth's surface as the Moon's penumra travels from West to East. Then the Saros series ends with a number of partial eclipses in the northern hemisphere with a minor final partial eclipse occuring close to the Earth's North Pole. Espenak labels this cycle as Saros 136. Whether we decide to follow Jansky and call this Saros series 11S, or Saros 136 according to Espenak, this series may be particularly important in a global context, considering that the initiating eclipse of June 22. 1360 occured on the same day as the Summer Solstice of that year, and in the 1st degree of Cancer. Although the longest total eclipse belonging to the Saros series 11S/138 occured in 1955, the current eclipse of July 22. 2009 might be particularly important and in a special relation with the initial eclipse, seeing that it occurs in the 30th and final degree of the very same sign as the initial eclipse, Cancer. Something that was indicated by the initial eclipse in the first degree of Cancer in 1360 comes to full blossom with the eclipse of 2009 in the final degree of Cancer. The Astro*Cartography chart for the initiating eclipse of 1360 shows the eclipse in the north, on the lower meridian, or on the 4th house of Mexico. The first outbreak of the Swine flue occured in this region and Mexico City were first to 'shut down' in an attempt to restrain the spreading of an epidemic. The planetary symbols found on the upper rim of the chart show where the planets appear on the upper meridian of vaious locations at the moment of the solar eclipse. Contrary, the planets along the lower rim of the chart show where the planets are located in the north and on the lower maridian of the locations that fall beneith this line. Other lines indicate where the planets are found either on the ascendant of descendant of those locations and are marked accordingly. http://www.astronor.com Quote Sun Jul 26, 2009 8:18 am
by Mr. Saturn johannes susato wrote:BTW: Is there a concrete date and/or time for the 'beginning' of this Swine Flu? As stated in the Wikipedia page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_flu_pandemic "The outbreak was first detected in Mexico City on March 18, 2009". So this is the best place to start for an horoscope for the swine flu pandemic. The most obvious astrological factor astrologers point to is the triple conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune; 27 May, 10 July and 21 December 2009. This does very well describe a pandemic. Jupiter being expansive growth and foreign travel, Neptune being infection, confusion and anxiety. Although the horoscope for the initial outbreak shows that Jupiter and Neptune are nearly 9 degrees apart, we know that these conjunctions will all have occured within the life of this pandemic. This link, http://www.theairdb.com/swine-flu/heatmap.html has an interactive graph at the top of the page which shows two distinct peaks in the number of reported cases (the blue line). The dates for these are 15 May and 05 July. The first peak occured 12 days before the first Jupiter neptune conjunction. The second peak occured 5 days before the second Jupiter Neptune conjunction. That link also has a map of countries worst hit so far, all in the southern hemisphere. The third Jupiter Neptune conjunction will occur during the northern hemisphere flu season. Wether it translates to another peak in reported cases may depend on the success of the first vaccine trial which began a few hours before the last solar eclipse. Quote Mon Jul 27, 2009 1:43 pm
by granny_skot You know I haven't been paying as much attention to this as I might because so few US cases seemed to be resulting in death. But I'm afraid I now have a personal reason to pay attention. On September 6th a young woman I know(have known since 97) who was an Exceptional athlete, about as healthy a person as you can imagine, was well. On september 7th she was sick enough that her boyfriend took her to urgent care, within hours she was sick enough they called an ambulence to take her to the hospital. by the end of the day she was unconscious and on a ventilator. One problem this young woman did have, was the occasional bought with Asthma, but again I mention she was a VERY healthy athletic person. Yesterday they took her off life support and at 4:55 Pacific time, in Lancaster CA she died of complications from Swine flu. 27 years old, and healthy on September 6th, by end of day on the 7th, she was unconsious and on a ventilator. People go get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available. I know it does NOT hit most people as badly as it hit her, but really, with the best treatment available, a very healthy person died from this. its worse than we want to admit and needs our respect. Now tell me is it of interest that the Spanish flu was first detected in Mid March in 1918? is that coincidental or? I"ll look at this data verses the data I have on the Kansas breakout of the spanish flu to see if there are comparisons and get back with you, I just felt the need to say, yeah, maybe we shouldnt' be so off hand with this pandemic. well my two cents for the evening.
