Just to make sure I understand your above words. When you say ?progressed planets are out??does this mean Riyal does not calculate secondary progressed solar moon with the progressed solar return angles, using Fagan?s Solar Quotidian (SQ1) method? The other planets in a progressed solar return progress by degree arc very little (I can understand why you would leave these ?out.?) However, the secondary progressed SQ1 moon moves app. 13 degrees a year and, and at times, offers critical symbolic representation from a precise timing standpoint with solar return quotidian angles, both SQ1 & PSSR progressed rates, particular when forming a paran configuration. Out of curiosity, if the progressed solar moon is ?out? ?how much trouble would it be for you to add the progressed positions of the solar moon to your Riyal program? Understand I am not presently acclimated to Riyal but plan to start doing a-lot of work with Riyal in the near future.

BTW?thanks Atlantean for your PM response to my PM. I will try this and see if I can get up to speed with Riyal?s transiting paran function. If not I will follow-up with another PM.

Right. You can still check it visually for conjunctions to the progressed angles, but only in terms of zodiacal longitude. Calculating the mundane position of the return progressed Moon and checking it against the progressed angles is possible but that will have to wait until I have the time and disposition to work on programming Riyal again... there is a long list of "to do" priorities waiting in line for that moment.

I thoroughly understand what you mean about ?disposition to work? about new programming for Riyal. A friend and I have recently been talking about a trip (if the time is right) to Costa Rica sometime in the future. If we make this trip, I would like to meet with you and discuss some possible business with you about the possibilities for a specialized paran program. I was looking at the parans in Riyal software.

These aren't the Parans tied to the Equator that Robert Hand and Kenneth Bowser uses.

They are Parans tied to Horizon which are type of parans that Bernadette Brady uses in her Fixed Star Paran system.
I have her two books on fixed stars and her Starlight software, and so I am very familiar with them.

Astrolog paran transits

The new Astrolog version 7.40 can do paran transits! :D Astrolog has supported Astrocartography since 1991, which of course allows one to map lines on the world where planets or stars are on one of the Angles, i.e. where they're rising, setting, or on the meridian. (Astrolog can do Astrocartography for minor house cusps too, as well as display its Astrocartography lines in 3D globe form instead of just in 2D map form.) Parans are basically where two lines cross, and Astrolog can detect and display all such crossing points, as well as cities in the atlas that are close to them. For example, my chart's output includes:

Paran transits basically compare two different charts. This can be done by plotting the lines for a natal chart, and then plotting the lines for a transiting (or progressed) chart, and calculating where the two sets of lines cross. You can also do relationship Astrocartography by doing the lines for two different people, and see where one person's lines cross another person's, to find locations that strongly affect two people (e.g. in a couple). Note that comparison Astrocartography can produce crossings that will never be present in a single Astrocartography chart, such as transiting Venus Descendant line crossing the same natal Venus Descendant line at a particular location (example Astrolog output below):
