Hi all,
I am not an expert on this topic at all, but what do you think of the chart cast for the resignation of Mubarak? The time of the speech of Suleiman was, according to Aljazeerah 18.05 PM, Cairo. So we get an ascendant of 28 of Leo, the Moon at 28 degrees of Taurus in the 10th. The Moon, the people, are in a seperating square with the the Sun and the Sun is in detrimenyt.
But that is how far my knowledge goes :)
I would love to hear your thoughts!

Personally I have applied the time of 16.02 GMT, which is when the vice-president appeared and made is announcement. I find it interesting that the Moon and Algol were culminating in the 10th, which indicates a rolling of Heads. I had discussed this matter with Angela Cornish earlier in the day. Also looking at a chart for the Moon's first quarter, which put Pluto and Saturn on the angles of Cairo - as also was shown in the New Moon chart of February 3. The charts and my personal observations are uploaded here at astronor.com.

Let's hope it works out well for these people.

Egypt- Mubarak- half moon chart - antiscia

Hello Andrew,

I wonder whether the Egypt people should be happy with Algol in the MC of the resignation-chart. But it's apt for the occasion. However, what struck me was the MC of your 'Conventional chart of the waxing Half-Moon, February 11' on http://www.astronor.com/110211egypt.htm. The MC is on 11 Capricorn. It's near the 4 january eclips degree and Mubarak's Saturn antiscion happens to be at that same degree. A pity we don't have full details of Mubarak's chart. I am not familiar with delineating antiscia, but they always carry something hidden with them.

Hi Acox,

Welcome as a new participant to the forum. I do not think we need worry about the chart for when Mubarak resigned, ie. the Moon with Algol in the South. It is an apt moment to be overthrown or forced from power. Later there will be a new leadership a new chart. Maybe we could convince them to employ an astrologer to elect an auspiscious moment? :wink:

Since Saturn has been passing through Libra I continue to be impressed by the traces left from the Great tripple conjunction with Jupiter in 1981. Many spells of the past are replaced by new beginnings.

Hi Andrew,
Some other thoughts on the chart of the resignation: how would you delineate the Moon in the late degrees? It will soon enter Gemini, that is the 12th sign of the Moon, so could that describe the people loosing their strenght???
How would you delineate the significator of the army, I think Saturn is the significator, ruling the 6th? The fact that Saturn is retrograde and in a seperating trine with the Sun, lord of the ascendant, could that mean that the people, 1st house, and the army are not united any more in the near future?
Will the army keep its promise here, or is it just an empty promise, so to speak???

First, the Moon in late degrees of Taurus is not deprived of virtue, even if we were to ignore the outer planets and term her as void of course. The next thing is that to understand the consequences of Luna's entry into Gemini - first consider Mercury's application to his dispositor Saturn by trine. The first aspect to occur is also the sextile to Jupiter - but I do think you are asking the right questions. We will have to try and work it out as we go along.

The Moon will move to Pleiades, which is likely to have with releasing the nation and its people from its containment and frustration. In my opinion Pleiades has to do with the challenge of overcoming the spell/curse of Algol.

Oh, I spotted a writing mistake in the previous post. Now corrected. But with the Moon in the end of Taurus there are the aspects to the outer planets, which is a period of disorder, re-arrangement, extraordinary and surrogate solutions. Then there is a waiting period as the Moon drifts void of course, waitng to enter Gemini. As I mentioned in the other post, as the Moon heads for Gemini there is the proposition of a free election, as indicated by Mercury in Aquarius applying by trine to Saturn in Libra - where the people are looking to appoint a beneficiary leader of their own favour, as indicated by the sextile to Jupiter in the beginning of Aries. There is a plan, vision or sense of agreement but the Moon has to get to there (i.e. enter Gemini) first.

Tienka, Continue to chart and keep record of the mundane events of your own time and continue to apply your sound sense of astrology, and I am sure you will make a valuable contribution to the field of mundane astrology. Keep with it! :'

Notwithstanding Yuzuru's stunning pictures how do you explain the way the events have unfolded in Egypt from a traditional perspective regarding eclipse interpretation? Has the traditional approach failed to work here? If not how do you explain it?

With the anti-government protest movement now spreading rather like a domino effect throughout the gulf and middle east I have now retitled this thread: Protests in Egypt & Islamic World. This reflects the widening scale of the protest movements that were sparked by the uprising in Tunisia last month.

In Tehran , the capital of Iran today, thousands defied the ban on demonstrations and gathered in in the centre of the city. Iranian police fired tear gas at opposition supporters participating in the rally which was called in solidarity with the popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.

Meanwhile Iranian police placed opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi under house arrest this morning. the BBC reports, citing Mousavi's official website as its source. And the network adds that the website "says the move is intended to block him from attending a rally in Tehran in support of the protests in Egypt."
