Using 15 events I rectified the chart of Sarah Ferguson to 8.48.54 GMT Asc 15 Sco32'. Using my rectification, in her current SR, precession corrected, Venus & Saturn exactly on Asc and Pluto on IC.
In the converse Tropical SR there is grand cross: Mercury & Sun on Asc, Saturn exactly on Desc, Neptune on MC and Uranus on IC.
The calculation of the planetary positions in PSSR in SF are accurate. The problem is that you can't see the regress positions. Here is an example: In the current SR for Ferguson, precession corrected, Moon is 12Vir13'. Progressing it to 23 May 2010 the Moon is 20Vir42':
20Vir42' ? 12Vir13' = 8 degrees 29'
12Vir13' - 8degrees 29' = 3Vir44' conjunct radical MC with orb of 28'.
With the Moon we can use larger orbs, 30' for conjunction & oppositions, 18' for all the other aspects.

Dennis Hopper's 2009 Precessed Solar Return

In James A. Eshelman?s Book, ?Interpreting Solar Returns,? he cites the importance of Solar Moon aspects to Solar & Natal planets. Jim notes at times a Solar Moon can dominate the theme of a Solar Year. I have quoted book passages in this thread defining the recognized importance of Solar Moon with a precessed Solar Return. The following is a new quoted passage from ?Interpreting Solar Returns.? Jim devotes an entire page to the Solar Moon and Health where he states:
?One other area exists where we can supply important information by examining the solar Moon?s placement and aspects: personal health. So potent are the medical implications and indications from this one factor that they deserve special mention and attention. In looking through dozens of Solar Returns with case histories, I was extremely impressed by how often years of important illnesses showed afflictions to the solar Moon??
Dennis Hopper, Hollywood actor, passed away (RIP) into the celestial spheres on May 29th 2010. In Oct. 2009 he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Also during his 2009 Solar Year he was embroiled in a bitter, very depressing, divorce battle with his 5th wife. Astrodatabank supplies an ?AA? (birth certificate/hospital record in hand) rated birth time. Included in this post is a bi-wheel, inner wheel Dennis?s 2009 precessed Solar Return, outer wheel his natal chart. Note Dennis?s 2009 precessed Solar Moon is in partile 180 to Solar Saturn and adjusting for precession is also in partile opposition to Natal Neptune?Solar Saturn (transiting Saturn) is partile conjunct Natal Neptune on the day of his 2009 precessed Solar Return. Dennis Hopper stated in Dec. of 2009 his wife had stolen over 1.5 million $ of art from his estate and had deceived him of other big $, hence the deceptive influence of Natal Neptune being in partile aspect to the axis of his 2009 Solar Moon & Solar Saturn. ***Also note when he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in Oct. 2009 his 2009 Solar Moon by secondary progressed rate had formed a partile conjunction with his Natal Saturn?a double whammy of partile aspects involving Solar Moon with Solar Saturn & Natal Saturn. Remember Jim?s teachings: ?Partile Aspects Reign Supreme.? If you do not calculate Dennis?s 2009 Solar Return, allowing for precession, these partile aspects involving his 2009 Solar Moon are not present!

* Do not Cart Blanc interpret all Solar Moon/Saturn aspects as meaning your health will affect you. Ones age, present health, and life style must be considered! Dennis was 74 years old. I have seen other Solar Returns featuring partile aspects with Solar Moon?Saturn aspects where the health was not affected?but was a time period for some type of depression (Saturn).

Using 16 main events my rectification for Dennis Hopper is 17 May 1936, 20.23.45 CST Dodge City, Kansas, Asc 5Sag51'.
In his 2009 SR, precession corrected, Neptune is on Desc with orb of one degree.
He died on 29 May 2010, so we have to look at the 2010 SR:
In the current SR, precession corrected, Mars exactly on MC. Pluto conjunct NN with orb of only 36'!
The most significant SR is in the converse: in the tropical SR, Node exactly on Asc, orb 48'. In the converse SR, precession corrected, Saturn exactly on MC square Uranus.
There is quite a weird approach of the programmers of 3 commercial programs: Win Star, Kepler (or Sirius) & Millennium: there is the converse option in all the techniques available (progression, directions etc) EXCEPT for transits and Return charts. This is illogical approach.
As far as I know, the only commercial program that includes the converse option in all the techniques without any exception is Solar Fire.
In working without the converse mode, you see only half of the picture.

Crucial astrological analysis

?It is safe to say that nothing vitality important in life development occurs without angular contact --- or contact with the Sun or Moon. Angles are crucial.? Noel Tyl, ?Solar Arcs?, page 26
Noel?s above statement applies regardless of one?s system(s) of astrology and is indeed ?crucial? for Solar Return analysis. Solar Returns are only one of many systems of astrology but a very important branch of astrology.

There are four Moon positions with their aspects which are also crucial for astrological analysis:

1: Natal/Radical Moon

2: Secondary Progressed Natal Moon

3: Solar Return Moon

4: Secondary Progressed Solar Return Moon.

Did I miss something or do you owe us something?
Hi Trojan, I had completely forgotten about this?I have been occupied with an ailing Mother but she is better now-- so I will try to post up some guidelines pertaining to Solar Return Quotidians. At certain times they are interesting to monitor.

Steve, so glad to hear your mother is doing better!
Looking Foward to your information about Quotidian charts!
From my experience including the PSSR, when these charts strike with angular symbolism, they do it hard! I really like using the angles from the progressed charts with transiting planets too

Your above statement is very true and an excellent observation. Matthew Quellas who collaborated with Jim Eshelman during the writing of ?Interpreting Solar Returns? told me years ago that transits involving the angles of Solar Quotidian Charts produced a-lot of action pertaining to rich planetary symbolism. I have some Quotidian teaching files (very disjointed) by Matthew and will try to coherently piece these files together and pass this Quotidian knowlege on down the line.

Matthew Quellas has taught me much pertaining to Fagan?s and Bradley?s work. After I first read in the early nineties ?Interpreting Solar Returns? by Eshelman, I had more questions than answers and desperately needed someone to ask questions about Fagan?s work (they were few to ask). I was very fortunate to find Matthew through the internet (CompuServe), and he answer all of my question by e-mail. I will try to extract from these old e-mails in my saved files certain aspects of his teachings about Solar Return quotidians. In a sense, Matthew has taught me more about Solar Returns than ?Interpreting Solar Returns?. This is what Jim Eshelman stated about Matthew in the his Acknowledgments from ?Interpreting Solar Returns?:

?Every now and then, but not often enough for my tastes, one encounters an individual whose interest in, and competence with a subject so nearly matches one?s own that equality is a fact of life and all interaction evokes stretching, pushing limits and growth. Spurred by a ferocious number of Mars interaspects, my relationship with Matthew Quellas has been of this type. Sometimes it is hard to tell when my ideas leave off and his begin, where I have given birth to thoughts and where I have borrowed his. Until I find a way to chain Matthew and his typewriter in one place with no chance of rescue, and compel him, at threat of burning all of his lion posters and statues, to write a book of his own, I want to acknowledge his unavoidable contributions to my opinions in this book.?

I can?t begin to hold a candle to Matthew?s knowledge pertaining to Fagan?s teachings. If it was not for Matthew working close and patiently with me through dozens of e-mails, this teaching thread on ?Interpreting Solar Returns? would not be happening.

It's so weird how all authentic branches of Astrology can be reduced to simplicity and planetary symbolism.
I hope Jim's site pops up soon enough, I really enjoy the pages he posted about synastry, very easy to understand and accurate.

Fagan?s branch of astrology with planetary symbolism was indeed reduced to symbolic planetary simplicity. However, there was no simplicity in computing the charts necessary to see this planetary simplicity. Before the advent of computers there were very few astrologers who could compute by hand/mind the necessary charts in order to see the planetary simplicity. Even with the advent of computers it is somewhat complicated to know the correct steps in choosing the correct computer preferences in order to see the brilliance of Fagan?s astrological methodologies. Fagan was an astronomical Adept, but was banished outside the club of mainstream astrology because he said the ancient astrologers before Greek invention were using the sidereal zodiac. I am trying to get a new generation of astrologers to understand Fagan relied very little on sign, constellation, or house symbolism. Fagan?s astrology was about the simplicity of chart angles and intrinsic symbolism of the planets.

I too hope Jim?s site ?pops up? again. His site contained a wealth of astrological synthesis for the astrologer.
