I voted for Cyprus in tonight's semi-final and was pleased to see that my vote counted I liked the song which is called 'Life looks better in spring'. Uranus at 0? Aries?

The biggest suprize so far - Sweden is out of the contest and did not qualify to the final with their entry 'This is My Life' . What a disappointment for the artist Anna Bergendahl, although she seems to be taking it in good spirit. That probably makes her the 'best' looser. Sweden is ruled by Aquarius, leans toward the stationary Saturn and might be inidcation of the pressures along that line. Safurna (Azerbaijan) chose to be supported down from the top of her staircase and a man holds her hand as she descalates. Her high heals haven't been helping her and she almost fell in her first stage rehersal. In a later rehersal she came down the stairs bare footed. What a tradegy that would have been if she fell in the final!

However, Azerbaijan are through and will be in Saturday's final - but then they have been unlucky with the draw and start the show from first position. There was a Full Moon rising in Oslo last night and lots of things changed. Azerbaijan's favouritism among the bookmakers has collapsed as the price was quoted at 2,5:1 prior to the semi-final and now it is 3,75:1 at Betfair. During the run-up to the competition I was able to pick up Germany at 7,2:1 - but now Germany are now quoted at 4,3:1. It is going to be close!

Bookmakers now hold Armenia in 3rd position with the odds 8:1. Armenia was my starting position when I started the thread, remember, so I picked up some insurance on this entry early in the game at 22:1 - just in case. Nordicbet now actually have Aserbaijan, Germany and Armenia all neck to neck at 4:1. Israel, who were the early favourites at 3:1 have now fallen down to a 4th position at 11,5:1.

Note that the Irish singer Niamh Cavanagh won in 1993 (might be worth looking at 4th/IC) and is a redhead (Mars).

Ideally, to try and predict a winner we should research as many past charts/eurovisions as possible (say, at least 20) and see what in the chart indicated the winner but most of us, including me don'tn have time for that!

When I originally looked at the chart, nothing really jumped out so I thought that Uranus entering Aries the day before the contest might be significant in some way. The Azerbaijan song (2/1) has been described as 'weird' and the German entry (3/1) as 'quirky' Cyprus at 100/1 are real outsiders but I've put a few bob on them each-way and will hope for the best. Actually looking at the odds, the majority could be described as outsiders - some huge prices on offer!

Report for the final dress rehersal - It was Magnificent! For Goca: Milan Stankovic for Serbia dressed in white with a blue jacket. He did well and was popular among the audience. Greece also raised a big cheer. Denmark, too.

Great Britain came over well. There was something with the sound mix for Germany that I have heard better in earlier occasions. Azerbaijan made a good performance, I should say.

Azerbaijan seems a very good bet, or another emerging country fairly new to the Song Contest so possibly Armenia will also do well. I can't see the traditional song contest entries gaining the crown this time!
