I agree with Yuzuru that it would be better to split this thread.

I hadn't anticipated my initial comment would take the thread so far from its original focus. I would suggest we create a new thread entitled 'Fixed Stars on the MC' and start it from Deb's initial post questioning my statement that Scheat was not on the MC.

I have more comments to make but I do feel its worth returning to the original focus of this thread.

Before Tom has kittens, I should point out that he may not find it very easy to split the thread, and there is always a danger that posts get lost when this happens (he may want to try it, or maybe not). Another alternative if questions or comments remain is to start a new thread which includes a link to this one in the first post. Then it can carry on from the discussion started here, but it gives us a better way to reference the discussion in future.

your idea is fine to begin an new thread just now without splitting the former posts. So there is no labour, no fear of loosing any posts and the two themes are separated from now on and in the future!
