73 by Atlantean Hello Steve, Unless I am mistaken, he is talking about the PSSR aspects. [Cyril Fagan] (both direct and converse, or perhaps more appropriately, progressed and regressed) In the Astro program, choosing option 2 and then 5 gives these aspects for any charts that you have saved/entered. These are used to confirm the birthtimes from Polaris to make sure it is right, because if the time is right, it will line up across systems, IF the systems chosen are reliable. This definitely includes Topocentric Primary Directions, PSSR, and Secondaries... If you want to start checking out Topocentric Primary Directions for your own chart and you have a birthtime that you firmly believe to be rectified to within a few minutes and working,...then you can use Astro to look at several events and find out the birthtime within a few seconds of accuracy, most likely. You NEED this for doing anything with Topocentric Primary Directions, because just shifting the birthtime by 40 seconds can move an aspect that is EXACT at an event, so that it is not even on the list of considered aspects. Other aspects closer to the "edge" will of course move out with considerably less error in birthtime. Take care, Atlantean Quote Wed Mar 24, 2010 10:32 pm

[Cyril Fagan] (both direct and converse, or perhaps more appropriately, progressed and regressed) Fagan progressed a sidereal solar return (or a Precessed Tropical Solar Return) with two methods? The Solar Quotidian (SQ) and the PSSR (Progressed Sidereal Solar Return). The MC of the SQ advances about 1 degree per day. The MC of the PSSR advances about 1.25 degrees per day. I have very little experience with the PSSR, simply because I have no program that accurately calculates the PSSR rate. But I have lots of experience with the SQ rate and have verified with many chart examples that the SQ rate, at times, offers dead-on symbolism for major events. I have communicated with other astrologers and have seen where the PSSR also offers accurate symbolism. I now understand Isaac?s contention that these progressed Quotidians offers an excellent method to verify a rectified birth time. Thanks. Steve With all our modern knowledge and scientific equipment, and with the the great strides made in mathematics, we astrologers have done nothing to even remotely compare with the achievements of the astrologers of antiquity. 75 by Isaac Starkman Steve: you don't understand correctly: I'm not using the Qutidians method. I'm using ONLY the PSSR and progressing ONLY the planets & NN (NOT the angles) and searching for aspects with ALL the factors in the chart, including angles and cusps. Alexander Marr firmly opposed using the Qutidians method. Quote Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:28 am
76 by Atlantean Hello Steve, If you get Astro downloaded AND working, then you will have the means for seeing the PSSR aspects. It is worth the price of admission (okay, it was free, but you know what I mean) just for that capability. Also, the program WILL handle both progression and regression and also for both the Radix (natal) and Epoch charts simultaneously. Please do try the PSSR aspects. I know you already think much of Cyril Fagan and I assure you, the PSSR aspects have shown to be reliable. I know these are new systems with different methods, but give it a shot... I find the correspondences between relevant aspects and events to be very reliable. Take care, Steve Again...ask if you have any problems setting up or getting Astro to work. Peace Atlantean Quote Thu Mar 25, 2010 1:41 pm
Reply to Atlantean & Isaac 77 by Steve Hi Isaac, I felt like I didn?t understand something important about your work. Thanks for pointing out to me my miss-understanding. As I have said, I am just beginning to study and attempting to learn your approach. I have seen enough appropriate symbolism that has proven to me your work deserves my attention. I am still somewhat confused with certain words (terminology) in your writings. When you say your ?system of directions from the sidereal solar return is one of the most powerful tools available for confirming a rectified time?? are you saying you are ?using ONLY the PSSR and progressing ONLY the planets & NN?? This confuses me because the planets (except the moon) in a solar return only move (progress) by minutes of arc in one year time. I can?t understand how planets in a solar return progress enough to set-up very tight aspects to confirm a rectified time. I do know Fagan endorsed Alexander Marr?s work so maybe I need to absorb Marr?s work in order to understand. Any further explanation posts from you on the above matter would be greatly appreciated. Also, thanks Atlantean--when I get Astro loaded and get a feel for it I will defintely be asking you some questions. I do beleive I am going to learn something important. 78 by Isaac Starkman Hi Steve, Here are some examples for PSSR, the maximum orb is 11': My rectification for Prince Charles is 21.13.38 UT, 22 seconds earlier from the recorded birth time. The MC is 13Ari10'. 1.For his first marriage on 29 July 1981, the converse SR, precession corrected, is cast for 14 Nov 1916 16.20 UT, Venus in this SR is 13Lib53, orb 43' from opposition to MC. Regressing Venus to the marriage date Venus will be 13Lib03' only 7' from opposition to radical MC. You see? 2. In the SR, precession corrected, for the birth of his brother Prince Edward Venus is 12Sag41' trine MC orb 29'. Progressing it to 10 March 1964, Venus will be 13Sag04' trine MC orb 6'. Of course with the slow motion planets like Saturn, Uranus etc the aspects are actually from the SR to the radical factors. Once you will installed ASTRO you will understand it better. See my articles in Considerations vol 14 no 3 & 4. Quote Fri Mar 26, 2010 6:53 am
79 by yuzuru Hi, people if you want to discuss topocentric primary directions, rectification, etc, maybe you should move the discussion to the Natal forum. The news forum is concentrated on, well, news and notices. Besides, the original thread was about Morinus software and it has gone very far away from that.
