Hey Mark

I posted something yesterday about the common sense of having a different thread for the last 8 games of the World Ciup. The idea was considered with serious astrological research in mind - explaining the reasoning, theory etc behind each judgement. Although i personally don't use national charts for football games, because of the accuracy of the data available (RE: ISIS..), i'm not against it. But surely you must agree that posting without any reasoning or data leads to nothing other than a random collection of opinion?
Hi Nathan,

There was nothing to stop anyone doing this as GB said. As for data I did give charts linked to my basic working theory so I dont follow you there. I am not pretending it was very sophisticated but it was there! I had initially planned to open a separate thread to look at predicting the Tournament with national charts separate from all the discussion on contest charts. However, when Amelia started to post on national charts here I thought I better join in here.

But frankly, I am less interested in the results of individual games. Its the ultimate winner of the World Cup that interests me. I think that is really what national charts should pick up. However, you could still open threads on the remaining three matches at the quarter finals.

Personally, i'm not afraid of getting my predictions wrong - and of course i do, but i get a lot correct, and i'm also happy to post my data - and make amends as i have to clarify and unlike some who, delete and edit entire posts.
This whole area is a bit of a light punt for me. I think you have to accept a high degree of failure when you are experimenting. I guess most people like to do this kind of research in private. I have no problem with predictions and failures remaining public.

The problem with this research is, and i'm sure you've come across it yourself, is that Astrology and ego needs meet with comments like this:

That seems harsh Nathan. I have a lot of respect for Amelia. I think all she was saying was that she was sticking to her guns to see if her astrological approach worked.

'A test of Astrology'? Really?
No. But a test of our techniques or methodology? Yes! For example, I have never really worked with charts for France before so this is a chance to do some testing on the radicality of popular charts outside the useful methods of checking key historical dates.

For me it's more a case of finding out how well a chart (and I) works, rather than 'testing' astrology in general.

I guess it depends how serious you view all this. For me this is really some light relief from the rather grim issues going on in the mundane forum like the rise of the Caliphate.

Update: France have just lost to Germany. Back to the drawing board....

Completely valid opinion , which I totally agree with in principle. But if you read back to the start of the original thread you'd see my link to my blog. On the blog I give an initial rationale, techniques used and potential reservations about the method. The charts used are either referenced in that post ( if I'd never worked with them before) or in the original blog posts for the country concerned.
'A test of Astrology'? Really?
Point taken. Sloppy writing, as I was in a hurry. Of course I'm not testing astrology per se, I'm testing the particular method.

Totally agree. I looked for it but then found two threads for different games so as I'd got a combined set of comments to post I used this one.

Oh - just seen that Mark has responded too. I'll leave him to delete my comments if he sees fit.

I am most definitely NOT a moderator here! This forum is my holiday destination not my home. :lala

No need. I didn't mean my post to look fierce.

have you tried to apply this to multiple games kicking-off at the same time in nearby areas?
Hi Konrad,

Early days yet with this technique, so I've just looked at individual kick-off times.

Hi Konrad,

Looking at the charts of individual games has evolved, almost layer by layer, since last year.

I started with the Moon and developed how I evaluated its influence on the results. The more modern view is that it shows the flow of events, which is when things happen. I view this now as how things happen, that is, is it a time for things to happen as expected, or not.

The catch, is reading what the symbolism is saying. Since the World Cup, I?ve put more weight on viewing the LHR and radicality in similar terms, that is should I be expecting the outcome to go as expected, or not. Putting more weight on these factors between the group stage of the World Cup and the Second round evidently changed the success of my forecasts. The trick is to take this into the next Premier season.

Coming back to your specific query on multiple games: I remember a few seasons ago three teams in Gold/Orange/Yellow all winning when it wasn?t expected, with all games kicking off at the same time. I think two of the teams were Wolves and Blackpool, but can?t recall the third. It would have been one in their away kit.

My initial thought is to consider colours by natural significators. Have you thought about looking at a block of games that kick off at the same time and consider the results in terms of what you would expect to happen and identify the ones that do not, that is draw or shock win? I?d be looking for patterns, be it colours or something else. You know how it works with this type of astrology; the patterns just seem to raise themselves out of the chart.

If you want to look at a block of games on the Forum we can see if anything presents itself?

John,

yes, this is actually how I work generally. I have a couple of years worth of blocks of games, timed down to around 20 seconds of them starting and I used them to try and figure out patterns from there. From what you have said, I have used pretty much the same line of thought as you in that I used the Moonand that I was looking for things to upset the expected result, but as per a couple of Hellenistic authors writing about Electional astrology, I also looked to the Lot of Fortune and its lord.

I am willing to work on blocks of games on the forum, but I refrain from doing so as I use a Sidereal mesurement, and this can complicate matters when we are, in effect, looking at different charts for the same game. If that isn't a problem, I am in for this coming season.

Hi Konrad,

I?d been thinking about opening up a thread for blocks of games for the start of the Premier season. My starting point is just to record any patterns in the results and see if the astrology develops.

It seems we have a similar approach, which may be a good enough starting point. There are plenty of variations in techniques in this area. I?m not deterred by either different techniques or similar techniques with an alternative focus.

Let?s see!

I believe it might be considered as innovation in traditional astrology.

hello everyone

just a comment: 3 out of 4 national teams qualified represent countries with female prime minister (brasil-argentina-germany), whereas the 4th, Holland, is traditionally associated to its queen.
