But never having run over 1 mile there was a question about whether she would get the trip.
That was also the case with Tiggy Wiggy, but she stayed on for 3rd :-?

The problem with charts for the race is that by selecting an aspect, say - Mercury trine Saturn as the significator for the winning horse in the 16:00 at Haydock for example, is not necessarily the winning combination for the 16:10 at Kempton or the 15:50 at Sandown Park. In theory it should be, but it isn't. This is one of the main reasons i use Addy's 5th Cusp method, aside from it being the most reliable over a period of time, that cusp changes quite quickly at certain times of year, indicating different significators from race to race. To me, it makes sense to 'enter' the chart from the 5th cusp as the 5th house rules Sport, stadiums, gambling etc etc....I'm not saying that this method is perfect - far from it, but it does seem to yield particularly good results in the lower grade races such as Maidens and Novice chases, for example. And I've also noticed that the quincunx is probably the most important aspect to consider too.

Majestic Bond (5th trine Jupiter in 12th) and Kings Mimic (quincunx Sun on MC "has a solid look about him") 13:00 Beverly - reverse forecast :'

Yes, but the point I was making that the question was particularly pertinent to Redstart due to both the natal and event Saturn-Mercury oppositions.

Tiggy Wiggy does not have that natal opposition.

I don't think anyone has suggested looking for a particular aspect as the hallmark of a winner. But looking at a few other of the races at Newmarket yesterday, it did strike me that the winners often had a natal Fortunae - 5th House aspect. Whether this was the case for others in their races, I do not know.

I took a look at Beverley 13:00.

Ferryover's AND Spirit of Zebedee's natal Fortunae are partile conjuct the event's Fortunae.
They have the same birthdate.

King's Mimic's Fortunae is square the 5th.
Majestic Bond's Fortunae is sextile the 5th.

I wonder why El Principe was passed over?

How can you be sure of a natal POF when there are no exact birth times, skyrack?
If it's not astronomically true, it's not astrologically true.

Yes - good point.
As the Moon is part of the calculation, you cannot be sure.

I have been using 12:00 as birth times whereas very early morning or late at night are the likely times.

Perhaps this just serves to emphasise the Cornelius Effect?

Why did Tiggy Wiggy stay on for 3rd, when it was generally hought she wouldn't ?That is one the things that needs to be investigated then. It's the small details like that that could indicate whether the horse turns out to be a champion or ends up in the glue factory.

More importantly the Ascendant is part of the calculation, so we have no idea where the natal PoF is.

Tiggy Wiggy had a good race.

Her natal Sun was partile Conjuct the event Fortunae, and Sextile the 5th.
Her Jupiter was Conjuct the event Sun.
Her Mercury was a wide Sextile from the event's Mercury prominent near the MC.

The circumstances were good yesterday and may flatter her genuine abilities as a middle distancer.

A few musings on recent events!!

Firstly, well done today on the 13.00 at Beverley. The quincunx trumps the 5th house!

The 14.10 at Beverley saw Libran coming in 1st as well.

As yet I remain unconvinced by any one single method, be it 5th house Campanus cusps and aspects/dispositors, or horse birthdays and the transits at race time.

I continue to be intrigued with how the symbolism presents itself. I look at the ebb and flow of planets aspecting angles and close aspects with each other, whilst not expecting every race to sing-out with astrological symbolism.

When I?ve looked at the 5th house cusp, all that has been found are, at best, placed horses. Recently Pluto was sat on the 5th, Dark Lord did nothing. Where there has been a 5th house cusp aspect the best results seem to involve other planets making aspects to angles.

On the day AP McCoy retired, Mercury sat on the MC and Mercoeur didn?t even finish! However the 17 year old Sean Bowen won the race and was crowned Conditional Jockey of the year, with comparisons made to McCoy. At the same time Moon was applying to Saturn all day, which I thought may have something to do with McCoy. Instead old man Sagittarius Frankie Dettori gets 4 winners.

This weekend Moon was applying to Venus until 3pm, with Moon on Spica. Whilst wondering how this may play out, the race prior to the aspect perfecting saw Simply Shining with a female jockey come in as a winner.

This coming Saturday Mercury perfects its square to Neptune by late afternoon, with Mercury conjunct Aldebaran. Moon applies to Mars with a mutual reception by exaltation, perfecting in the evening. It will be interesting to observe how this plays out
