Yes, I agree, that's how I've always seen it, although I'd say fave rather than Asc team, although this amounts to the same thing for those that always give the Asc to the fave. It's just something else I'm going to keep an eye on this season.

Re tonight's game, a draw is a very sensible prediction but I still think Portsmouth have a very good chance of winning.

I agree. Although the Moon's aspects favour Portsmouth (as we've already said), I thought that the strong Mercury for ManU (as away team) would rescue them somewhat. This was based on the Mercury teams having performed so well last weekend. However, after yesterday's result, with West Ham (the Mercury team) losing, I've revised my view. Mercury's essential dignity was irrelevant and it was other testimonies that accounted for those results.

As for your last comment, it's true I'm not emotionally attached to any particular team, but I do allow non-astrological factors to cloud my judgement. For example, my hesitation in backing underdogs to win when they are playing an odds-on fave, especially one of the Big Four (like Arsenal on Saturday and ManU tonight). Also, you and I both commented on the recent form of West Ham and Man City, and I think this probably led us astray too.

Somehow in the process of editing my prior post, the last sentence I wrote in the post got last:
'I'll stay happy as long as Chelsea won't get any silverware.'

I totally agree with you about non-astrologiacal factors leading us astray occasionally Maybe better off not knowing anything about football like Deb?

I predicted a win for Manchester city and I think that was simply because of the angular Moon, but I didn?t predict that many goals.

I?m not sure at all about tonight?s game because there is a lot of angularity but it is Sun on the descendant and everything is going to Saturn. But I think angularity shows a strong game for the home team, so I?m really tempted to go for a draw. But I?m a bit thrown by the fixed star placements (Fomalhaut conjunction ascendant, Zosma conjunct Saturn), and I can?t get 2-1 for Man U out of my head, so I?m sticking with that, and I?ll wait and see what there is to learn from this game. I'm rushing today so I can't say that the astrology really speaks to me much on this chart.

I've changed it. I'm going for a 1-1 draw because I think (or rather, I'm hoping) that Fulham look strong in this chart. I'm still uncertain, but would rather base my prediction on something in the chart, even if I'm not sure yet what it means

An interesting weekend of results. It's the second week running that the Moon close to an angle has thrown me. I don't have any other football charts with Moon in the 6th close to the descendant.

I gave tonights chart to another astrologer, who referred to a talk by Dennis Elwell many years ago, she instantly went to the 10th and 4th cusps to decide a winner. If Portsmouth get a penalty tonight, I'll need to reconsider what I'm doing

I've now decided to stick to the formula "Home Team = Asc" before I drive myself dilly......

Did another rugby chart on the weekend, and I did get the winner right, so I feel slightly more confident in my choice of the Asc team. Also, in the rugby chart, Australia, who got the Moon as L7, beat the South African home team, although Moon was VOC and on Algol. The exaltation obviously carried them through!

Can't wait for the outcome of tonight's game!

The reason I saw that as a positive is that, firstly, I?m more interested in planets on angles than anything else (also v. interested in extremely close aspects). The Moon is going to the square of Saturn but Saturn is the dispositor of 1st-ruler, Jupiter, and there is a mutually applying trine between them. So I?m seeing Saturn as helpful to Jupiter.

It?s the same tonight, with Saturn angular. Of course, a lot of people are going to be disappointed ? but that?s always the case, but I think that the angular Saturn favours Jupiter, 1st-ruler, so I?m temped to change my score again and give a win to Portsmouth.
