I've found that comparing the club charts with the match chart can be quite useful sometimes. I looked at this a lot last season when I was having to predict all the Saturday 3pm games and I still check sometimes with the one-off games.

What works best is a club natal planet aspecting the match chart MC. Nodes picking up the MC/IC also work well. Inter-planetary aspects are less reliable although those involving Sun and Mars seem to be effective. For example, when Arsenal beat Liverpool last Sunday transiting Mars was trine their natal Sun. And when Man City beat Chelsea the previous weekend transiting Sun was sextile their natal Mars.

One thing I've noted though is that, even if a team appears to have a really good transit, unless there is support for that team in the match chart itself, then it's no good.

I consider this a very interesting question. I mean, it looks like you have to know your sport, know the teams, know the chances or the odds, right? In theory, I could imagine that you don't have to know this stuff, just analyzing the chart properly and coming up with the winning team. But it's not the case, is it?

I read that Wolverhampton, against ManUtd on Old Trafford, fielded a team mostly consisting of reserve players. (And the FA wants an explanation from the Wolves manager.) What's your take on this? Maybe aquirata's analysis was 100% correct and the best selection of Wolves players would have snatched a point or at least would have suffered a smaller defeat?

The chart is not radical and in fact, Venus, L7, who are the guests and favourites is inconjunct POF. This could bring in the Long-Shot. Mars, L1, is stationary, yet trine the Ascendant. Could there be a big suprize due in this match? The Sun is on the antiscia of Pluto.

No surprises here, I think. Moon, Lady of hour and ascendant is in the same sign as L10 and applies to the trine of her dispositor, Saturn. Saturn is L7, but why should Arsenal want to give it away? The chart is radical. Is there anything to attract a draw at this price?

Re Portsmouth/Liverpool
I've been puzzling over this one - the usual problem of weighing up testimonies. I have one thing to add - antiscion Venus L7 is conjunct MC and I'm trying to decide whether this outranks Mars L1 trine Asc. As you say, Mars is virtually stationary, so that has to be taken into consideration. Moon trine L10 is often an indication that the home team will score but in this chart Moon is L4. It's all very confusing but, if pushed, I think I'd go with Liverpool.

OK. 'Pushed' is a nice word for today - considering Mars is stationary.
I'll go for a draw 'mentally' but stay off the bet - just in case I get tripped up.

The Wanderers (Wolves) are favorites by odds. I actually often use 'Wanderer' as a nick in chats and the like because it is a re-arrangement of the letters in my own name that has reference to the planets. This chart is radical. POF opposes the Sun ( a lunimary) - I seem to find this aspect fortunating the favourite. Mercury, the dispositor of POF is on the Midheaven. Mars, L7, is stationary and in the sign opposite the Moon. So although I think it will be a battle the home team, Wolves, might just capture it.

The guards could get caught on the bridge. I think I'm going for a draw here, although I think there is more for B'ham in the chart than for Everton. Jupiter, L7, receives the sextile of Venus in the 7th. Mercury, L1, is inconjunct stationary Mars in the 4rth, which seems to be indicative of some of the hazard Everton hav e been suffering of late.

This is probably the most interesting chart. Cancer on the ascendant - do we give it to Chelsea? Pluto oppose the Ascendant - does it matter, this aspect could rocket (magnify) things anyhow. POF is closest the infortune Mars. The chart needs to be weighed up before going the one way or the other - some sort of spectacularity is in the chart.

Pluto certainly had its say in that match with 4 penalty kicks (Lambard having to take the one penalty 3 times!), Both goals came on penalties.

Bad luck, Ficina. This spoilt my day, too. I also had Newcastle, Wolves and B'ham draw all in a combination - only waiting for Chelsea to finish the day off. That was another 16:1 combination. Oh well, 3 out of 4 isn't too bad...
