Some last thoughts on the WestHam - Chelsea game:
Radicality saved the favourite, or L.Hr. in the same sign as L1 was good for the home team. Pluto was the underdog - hence the result was moved away from the favourite.

Does that mean that you were not rewarded for one single, two doubles and a tripple? Did the combination win you any money or is it like a 'money-back' option? Either way, it would seems like a sensible strategy in any kind of serious business investment or money placement.

The patent is a combination of 7 bets - 3 singles, 3 doubles and 1 treble. So even if you only get one or two results correct out of the three, you still win something. Depending on the odds, two results should produce a profit; one result, probably not but at least you get some kind of return. Yesterday, although I got one result wrong, the return was ?6.25 to a ?3.50 stake - not a huge profit but better than nothing

It is better than nothing!! In fact - if you can almost double your money on a regular basis - it is most certainly the way to go.

I threw in ?1 on combination of 3 scorelines - something I do not master
but the combined odds were over 3000:1 so I do not mind having the odd gamble.

I will check and see if the patent gives a more reliable return.

I like this chart mainly because of the name of the teams. Leo, often personified by Hercules (ref. Johfra) on the ascendant. The Moon is VOC in the 7th house, so the Eagles are going nowhere?

The charts are almost identical - but here I do not think the chart attatches to the teams in the same way, Lady of the hour being VOC - I feel more like a draw. Both L1 and L7 are below the horizon.

I don't have enough time to think the matter completely over and find it confusing that I weighed up the matches differently.

Bother! I've just spent about half an hour analysing the Wigan/Bolton game, only to discover it's been postponed because of the icy conditions outside the ground although the pitch is OK. I don't think I have the will to look at any more charts this evening, so I'll just wish you luck with your predictions, Andrew

Heracles - Go Ahead Eagles 0-2. I did terrible. And look at the odds. I don't know whether I want to be bothered with working it out. VOC Moon and chart not radical? The teams were probably wearing ice-scates and met with 2 feet of snow anyhow. The interesting thing with this match is the TWO RED CARDS, one to either side, in the 41st minute. Cast the chart and you will see this puts Mars on the ascendant. Maybe the Sun, L1 and dispositor Mars, toppling into Capricorn to Pluto has something to do with it, too.

This chart is interesting. It has an individual time, but exactly the same ascendant as in the previous game. Does radicality give it to the favourite? POF is sitting on the IC of this chart, disposed by Mars in the 1st. Sun, L1, is on the antiscia of Venus, 1L10. It is certainly more tricky seeing that the favourites are guests!

Re Toulouse/Bordeaux
Could you check your hour-ruler? I know we sometimes disagree on this because you use an alternative method but I have Mercury as hour-ruler, making the chart radical by triplicity. Possibility of a draw? Saturn L7 is partile opposite the Part of Conquest (negative for Bordeaux) although this testimony is slightly iffy because the aspect is separating. If it's effective, then I think Toulouse should get something out of the game.

I'm wrong anyhow because my head is still in Tuesday. By Regiomontanus I am fast in comparison to the Placidus system and am already in the hour of the Moon. Yes, I had at any rate decided to go for a draw or an away win in this match.

3 out of 3 right. I could have played higher odds, having considered a handicap for Anderlecht and wondered about a clean win for Bordeaux, but as Ficina has pointed out - the main thing is making a profit and avoiding a loss.

Toulouse scored the first goal after 4 minutes, so you were quite right, Ficina. Unfortunately, they had a player sent off in the 27th minute of the 2nd half with two yellow cards. That must have upset their game.

I guess that was Sun L1 conjunct Pluto which I had listed in my notes but decided to disregard. We had a sig conjunct Pluto in a recent chart which I interpreted as a negative but it had no effect at all! I think those 'astro-gods' are having a laugh
