Bernadette Brady's Babylonian approach to astrology is well worth study by any student of astrology. Difficult as it might be for many to accept Brady has very convincingly shown that with only a few exceptions this method explains the results of most Presidential elections since the modern two party system began in the 1850s.

This article was written by Bernadette Brady in 2008 before the Presidential election that year and explains the technique and how it has worked so consistently:

http://www.zyntara.com/VisualAstrologyN ... pt2008.htm

Brady's 'visual astrology'' can be summarised as follows. Venus follows an 8 year astronomical cycle which coincidentally harmonises with the 4 year political cycle of Presidential elections. These happen to be times when Venus is bright in the sky. When Venus is rising before the Sun (morning star) it tends to favour the King or incumbent party. When rising in the evening after the sun has set (evening star) it tends to radiate its favours to which ever of the two key power planets it is nearest to.

In Bablylonian thinking Saturn was the King while Jupiter was the Crown Prince (challenger for power). Thus in 2008 when Obama won Venus was in its evening star phase and radiated closest to Jupiter (the crown Prince). He symbolized that energy powerfully that year. On the other hand in 2012 when Obama won his second term Venus was in its morning phase and radiated to Saturn (The King) indicating the incumbent would win. This year the king (Obama) has retired and his appointed heir is seeking the throne (Clinton).

In November 2016 Venus again radiates to Saturn suggesting the ruling party or figure symbolizing the status quo stays in office. I have displayed a simplified chart for the evening of the election just showing the 7 visible planets. Although in this context only Venus, Saturn and Jupiter are relevant.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I was reporting on a segment of the US population and how Trump isn't really prepared for a big political job. For myself, I find it much easier to watch Donald Trump speak than Clinton. I don't dislike him. I find his speeches amusing, and I kind of like his personality. Like I said, he's charismatic.

Whatever, your intention Therese your comments were potentially incendiary. Anyway, I dont want to spend any more forum space on this issue. Lets all move on.

Thanks

Thanks Mark for the link to Bernadette Brady - I used to subscribe to her newsletter and have much respect for her approach
I had a facetious thought that now the decision was down to a male and a female candidate one could judge the outcome on that basis. With one notable exception Babylonian rulers tended to be kings so perhaps the visual chart Venus could represent the candidate herself. If so my first thought is that she would be in a better position as a morning star

hi mark,

thanks also for the link to bernadette bradys research on this topic.. it conforms with the link of nina gryphons which was the first post you made on this thread... it is interesting seeing 2 separate ways of getting a conclusion reaching what appears to me to be much the same conclusion!

i had seen this article of bradys back in the previous election or maybe it was the time before, but hadn't seen it since!

here is a link, non astrological that is keeping daily tabs on the changing fortunes of each candidate that some might want to know about..
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/201 ... ecast/#now

it is going to be harder for an astrologer to make a prediction on a trump win as it will be going against the norm here... i generally like to make a prediction way out front, but i haven't had the time and focus to do this here.. i will be especially curious of reading about any astrologer making a prediction on a trump win at this point... being the devils advocate and liking to go against the grain - it is very tempting to find the astrology to support an alternative view! of course this would be the height of subjectivity on my part!

does anyone know of anyone making an astro prediction of a trump win at this point?

I thought everyone on the forum would have noticed but obviously not. Clearly poor PR on my part. I opened a locked thread to collect all the predictions? I am adding new ones as I hear about them.

http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9205

I know of three american astrologers indicating a likely Trump win. I already cut and pasted Theodore White's piece here on this thread. Didn't you see that James?

Two others are Peter Novak and an astrologer called William Stickevers. Neither have formally called it in a public prediction but its crystal clear they favour Trump. From the UK Barrry Goddard and an Indian astrologer.

So thats 5 for Trump so far. I have 9 for Clinton showing at present but I have more to add there. I suspect the numbers will be something like 30-35% for a Trump win.

this week trmp's progressed sun goes from 29le59 59 to 0 virgo ... i've seen an early prediction for trump due to sun progressing conjunct regulus precessed to 0 virgo tropical ... however, the tarot trump ... strength for this cusp is the maiden shutting the mouth of the lion ... all the push back he's getting for his insults

Also, trump is 65 days older than Bill Clinton ... about 3 years ago his progressions were equal to clinton's natal ... and the eclipses could do her in ... I use a 7:28 am time for her ... tho' the 8:02 features mercury in her 12th along with her sun ... the private server in the house of self-undoing ... but the 7:28 time features the first lunar eclipse on her nadir ... family, foundations? then the september lunar eclipse is a couple/few degrees from her fourth house moon which conjuncts her daughter's sun ...

Also the interpersonal chemistry between Tim Kaine & HRC is a lot better than what she's got goin' on with Bill C ... now that would be funny

i've got a set of charts that show that bernie has a snowball's chance in hell by dint of his progressions ... bernie's p-sun makes its sagittarian ingress around election day just about the time that the US p-moon makes its ingress into sagittarius meanwhile ... the solar elipse next month is smack dab on bernie's mc ... which could mean a brilliant career initiative ... transiting neptune on his nadir ...

I think some may be holding back to see how the next Wikileaks release effects Clinton. And we dont have the first TV debate until 26th September.

Donald Trump has a narrower path to victory than Hillary Clinton. US Presidential elections are not decided in the normal democratic manner of a flat vote across the nation. Rather each state has a designated number of seats to be won. Whoever wins the majority in a state takes all the votes for that state. So its similar to the first past the post system in Britain, Canada and elsewhere where the winner takes all in a defined electoral area. But in this case we are not discussing a constituency for a parliamentary seat of say 50,000 but a state which can have populations larger than many European countries. The system has long been criticised for producing an undemocratic result on occasion. For example in the election of 2000 George Bush won the election after the highly controversial decision to award him the state of Florida. But his opponent Al Gore gained more votes across the nation. Another flaw of the elecoral college sytem is that both of the major parties have overwhelming support in the majority of states. For example nearly all the southern states in the SE USA (excluding Florida) are majority Republican while the Pacific coast states of California, Oregon and Washington are strongly Democrat. So the race comes down to a political battle to win a relatively small number of 'swing states''. Both parties put the majority of their efforts into campaigning in such states.

At the present its generally acknowledged that Democrats have an electoral advantage in the Electoral College allocation of states. Any Democratic party candidate starts with more banked up guaranteed electoral colege seats. So a Republican challenger faces a rather uphill struggle on paper.

This year its looks like the crucial swing states boil down to 3 states: Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. If Trump can win these 3 states he will likely win the election. If he doesn't win all three states Hillary Clinton will in all probability become the next President.

Pennsylvania is traditionally a Democratic state but it falls in the so callled 'rust belt' where there has been higher unemployment due to the decline of traditional manufacturing areas.

This article below sets out more on why these three states are crucial to Trump's strategy to win the White House. It also explains that Trump is at a heavy financial disavantage in the funding for his campaign compared to his opponent with Clinton having the backing of $44 million dolars while Trump only has about $20 million to run his campaign.

hi mark,

thanks for the overview here.. i am aware of the electoral college breakdown.. the example you gave of bush/gore is just one small but disturbing part of it all! the system seems rigged and undemocratic in many respects, but it is what it is..

the article from the nyt is pretty dismal on trumps chance too! thanks for sharing that..

on another note, have any astrologers given an astro prediction using primary directions? i guess it would be hard to do with clinton and a questionable birth time, but it seems it could be used on trump.. i looked briefly using morinus and didn't see much of anything positive to write home about! i still find primary directions the elusive 'master technique' that no present day astro masters are able to share publicly.. whether they have confidence in the use of this tool or not remains to be seen.

it appears Lars Panaro is using primary directions as part of a much bigger package, to make the prediction on the hillary clinton win.. if you have any info on what he is doing with pds, let us know.. thanks..

additional comment.. i sent lars panaro an e mail.. here is our correspondence.. "hi lars,

i am curious if you have used any pd data to come to the usa clinton election win prediction/conclusion?"

response ---

"No as I am not relying upon the technique for my prediction. I did Trump's chart with PDs as an afterthought and for fun. The way I see it when one finds confluence through different techniques then one has a strong basis for prediction. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for reaching out."

Hillary Clinton will be the winner based on the following rectified charts:
1. Hillary
I rectified her chart to 01.55.40 CST Asc 10Vir 31'
It is 22 minutes earlier from the time Zayin Cohen posted 11 years ago, claiming it is from her birth certificate.
Epoch: 25 Jan 1947 12.46.36 UT Asc 26Cap30' Moon 10Pis40'.
For the election there is no less than 9 appropriate aspects in Topocentric Primary Directions for winning: (orbs are in min. of arc)
Asc 0 Jup E/E 0'
Mer 180 Jup E/E 1'
Jup 60 MC R/E 3'
Mer 120 NN R/R 4'
Mer 60 Jup R/E 5'
Mer 0 NN E/R 8'
Asc 180 NN E/R 9'
Sun 180 MC E/E 11'
Asc 0 III R/R 11'

2. Tim Kaine born on 26 February 1958 7.59 am CST in St. Paul Minnesota. With 10 events I rectified his chart to 07.54.52 CST Asc 2Ari56'.
On 8 Nov 2016 converse transit Jupiter is sextile MC 50' and sextile Pluto 21'
The primary directions for 20 Jan 2017 are very favorable:
Asc 60 Sun 2'
Plu 120 Sun 3'
Ven 120 Ura 5'
Secondary:
MC 120 Mer 3'
Converse transits:
Jupiter 120 Sun 32' !!!
Venus 60 MC 55' and 120 Jupiter 50'
PSSR:
Moon 0 MC 0' and sextile Jupiter 2'
His solar returns, casting for Richmond, VA are very favorable.
I have no doubt that he will be the next vice president.

3. Trump was born on 10.54 am EDT which I rectified to 10.47.54 EDT Asc 28Leo43'.
His epoch was rectified to 5 Sep 1945 09.00.08 GMT Asc 24Leo42'
In many cases a prediction is possible only when we have the epoch.
For 8 Nov 2016 the primary directions in Dual Test are:
Mar 90 Sat R/E 1'
NN 0 Asc R/E 9'
Ven 0 MC R/E 2'
Jup 0 Moon R/R 9'
The last 2 very favorable aspects could indicate some success and that he will not experience a bitter defeat.
Secondary directions:
Moon 90 Mars R/R 2'
Asc 90 Sat R/R 4'
The secondary directions clearly show a defeat.
The only transit (direct) is Uranus 120 Moon, but the converse transits are not favorable:
Mercury 180 Pluto 12'
Pluto 0 MC 64'
The primary directions for 20 Jan 2017 are very negative.
On that day transit Saturn is 180 Sun 35' and Mercury 90 Nep 55'. Converse Saturn 120 III 9'- clearly not transits for an inauguration .
In his converse lunar return for the elections, Saturn and Mercury on MC- DEFEAT.
