Yes I heard that it was Makar sankranthi. I "celebrated" by doing some solar mantras with awareness, while contempladed the sun as I walked outdoors. Also did some surya namaskara (sun salutations ) wit sun mantras for the 12 flowing asanas (positions).

I think it is beneficial in general for vitality and such, especially for mine sidreal ascendant leo.
