Draco, look in this website,
in the glossary section look for the words "colection" and "translation"

in the horary section look for introduction of horary, I believe there is a discussion about it.

after that you can search the forum for these words, for a more deep discussion on the subject

Hello Yuzuku,
Thankyou for responding to my post. I have read the horary section but I did not recall already reading about 'collection' and 'translation'. It is just that there is a lot to remember. I will revise the horary section and have a look. Am I right in thinking that if the Moon aspects Jupiter, and then aspects Saturn after, does that mean that Jupiter's qualities are 'translated' over to Saturn, thus modifying the interpretation? 'Collection' still eludes me. I will have a look on site and through the posts.
Thankyou :)

Translation of light is when the Moon, or any other planet in a chart, has already separated from an aspect or from being conjunct with a planet and is now applying to another planet. The key thing here is that in a chart, the Moon or other planet has to have already perfected its contact with the first planet. In the chart you posted before that is dated August 5 in another topic, the Moon's last aspect was a square to Mars and it's next contact is to the Sun. So the Moon is translating light from Mars to the Sun. In that chart I don't think it means much, because Mars is not really involved with the question. This is the only example of translation involving the Moon in that chart.

Collection is when two significators are not making any contact with each other, but they both make contact with a slower body, provided they are received by that planet with some major form of dignity.

You do have two examples of prohibition in that chart though. The Sun is coming to be conjunct with Mercury, but before they reach perfection, the Moon becomes conjunct with the Sun and then to Mercury before the Sun and Mercury meet. So the Moon prohibits the Sun and Mercury. In other words it gets in the way of the two of them. And the Sun is applying to be sextile Jupiter, but before they reach perfection, the Moon becomes sextile to Jupiter. So the Moon prohibits the Sun and Jupiter.

Thankyou for responding Mark. :)

I feel now that I understand what is meant by 'translation'. The Moon or other planet, 'translates' the qualities of the last planet it aspects to the next. That seems easy enough to understand and observe. Good.

I understand your explanation of prohibition also, but I wonder, is this also referred to as 'interception', or is this a different thing entirely?

I understand 'collection' better than I did, but not exactly. I understand that when two significators do not aspect each other, yet aspect a slower body, then their relational energies are 'collected' in that slower planet, yes?
For example, if 'A' is Mercury and 'B' is Venus, which do not aspect together but both aspect Saturn, then Saturn 'collects' their light, but only so long as Saturn is in essential dignity, such as being in Capricorn or the last decan of Taurus?
What is the interpretative value of 'collection', what is the significance of such a 'collector' (a third party?), and what if the collector is not in dignity?

I really appreciate you help,
Draco :)

Hmmm, it?s hard to give examples, as they can be infinite as life...

Imagine you like a girl, ask Will she ask me to the prom ?

You should look for an aspect, any aspect. Soft aspects, good chance, hard aspects, less chance.

If no aspects, look for translation or collection, to give an example kinda of stupid, it the 11th ruler is translating, maybe a friend will pass a little note between you two...
or, if the 9th ruler is colecting, maybe a teacher will put both in detention and will have a chance to chat :-)

sorry about the sillyness of the examples, but is in general symbols of "transmission, comunication," etc for translation, and of "bringing things together" in colection, or at least this is my understanding.

About the reception, what it does ? Well, in my poor experience with colections, if you look hard, you will find a lot of them, but they doesn?t always bring perfection ! Even with reception, I only consider the matter to perfect when I am confident by other factors...
