Is he my real father? 1 by Arya I discovered that the man I considered to be my father (and whom I have never met) might not be my father. It might actually be the ex husband of my mother as she was seeing both at the time. I ordered a DNA test but as I don't have the DNA of either men, I'm just hoping to find some distant cousin in the DNA matching service or to somehow have enough DNA from a specific region of the globe to tell them apart. Anyway, long story short while I am waiting for the DNA results I casted an horary chart asking: Is he my real father? (meaning the ex husband of my mom). I'm confused now, because I'm not sure who represents the man I considered to be my father until now, and the second one on whom I'm enquiring about. My current father would be represented by the 4th house, but the ex husband of my mother would be the 7th from the house of the mother, so the 4th as well? Or should I take the radical 7th? Or some other house? What do you think? Quote Tue Mar 01, 2022 8:57 pm
2 by annadeer still only learning horary -- but 4th stands for the mother -- 10th for her (ex)husband - with Jupiter in its own sign Pisces in 10, and Sun in 10, I'd say it's sure her ex husband is your father. And with Moon 2 degrees away from a sextile, I'd say you will soon get a confirmation of that, or be in touch with him. Quote Wed Mar 02, 2022 3:49 am
3 by Arya Thank you for your answer! I also thought that 4th was mother and 10th father as in traditional astrology, but it seems that for horary Lilly gave 4th as the father, there is a discussion about that here http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4831. Otherwise I agree with your interpretation, also for me the 10th lord looks more logical for the father and there is an applying aspect with my significator. Let see if other see it that way Quote Wed Mar 02, 2022 10:07 am
5 by AmeliaS I usually don't interpret charts with an ascendant this early but I'll throw in some ideas. The thing that clearly jumps out is the Jupiter. It shouts in this chart, being angular, in the most powerful house, and also the Moon's next aspect. The Jupiter must be giving important clue and is most likely the quesited. (In medieval teachings, the Moon's next aspect co-rules the quesited.) Not to mention that Jupiter is positioned in the 4/10 axis pertinent to the question and ruling one of these. Now my judgment: Since Jupiter rules the 10th, I'm gonna assume Mercury, which rules the 4th, is your mother. She is with another planet, Saturn. So your father is someone she is no longer with. There is complication here, though, that worries me. The Jupiter is combust. It is hidden for some reason. This could symbolise the difficulty of you getting to the bottom of this. In the worst case, it could even be misunderstanding. But overall, I'm with you two. More likely than not your assumption is true. This is because the Moon is angular and the Jupiter is angular and with great essential dignity. Quote Wed Mar 02, 2022 2:46 pm
6 by Arya Thank you so much for your answer Amelia! The man I'm asking about passed away a few years ago, could this be why Jupiter is combust? He is not visible, because he is not here anymore? I'm really happy to see that the 10th lord can be considered as the quesited, Jupiter looked important in this chart but the thing about fathers being ruled by the 4th confused me. 7 by Tanit3333 Why don't you interpret charts with early ascendant? Is there some particular meaning there? It is one of the considerations against judgment in horary, meaning the astrologer should take caution in reading the chart at all or may want to not read it because there may be a problem with the chart. Some astrologers believe any question asked in earnest and that is important to a querent is discernable but I am not sure I agree. Sometimes it is better to ask an astrologer for a reading in case the chart is not correct. An early ascendant suggests the question is not rooted or asked too early or the question was not thought about well before asking. The most common reason I see an early ascendant is that the question has been repeated or another form of divination has already been used about the matter. Is it not possible to ask your mother? I assign fathers as the 4th house but that is an area where people disagree: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/temples/index_list.html Quote Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:49 pm
8 by Ouranos The chart seems to be pointing to SA L7 as the real father for the second person you are inquiring about. Do you find this person to be Saturnian? Like working as an accountant, mathematician, a teacher or holding a status of authority in a large corporation? And I would use the 4th H (Mercury) as your real father connected to this person (Saturn) - Planetary Day SaturnL7 Planetary Hour MercuryL4 - MercuryL4 conjunct SaturnL7 (Rulership, Cadent, Out of Sect) - Moon Ruler of ASC in 7th - You share something with this person albeit in Detriment - MercuryL7 of your mother's ex-husband (turned) and L4 of father peregrine and cadent (no legal status) conjunct SA (In rulership but out of sect). - SA Heliacal rising conjunct MercuryL4. He is rising from ashes. - ME in rulership and triplicity of SA and SA in face of ME - Part of Father 12Gem12 in your 12th trine MEL4 / SAL7 in your 9th - Confusion regarding legal papers - Part of Death 26Aqu59 conjunct Saturn (moiety of 9 degrees) He is dead. - Moon next sextile JUL4 in 4th - Talk to your mother to find out the truth. Best to you, Blessings! Quote Wed Mar 02, 2022 10:09 pm

Thank you Tanit for clarifying the early ascendant. I'm not sure what the reason is exactly, obsviously I feel strongly about the issue and thought about it a lot before asking, but maybe it's because in this case I will rely more on DNA than on astrology, so I could as well have waited for the results instead of asking. Tanit3333 wrote:Is it not possible to ask your mother? She is the one who told me about her doubts, I asked her one day if there was any secret about my birth or my childhood that I may need to know, because I always felt something was off without being able to know why. She then told me that she had doubt about the paternity, but when I was born I was looking more like her bf than ex husband so she stopped thinking about it. I have looked at newborn pictures of me and there is no resemblance that I can see to either of them, my guess is she wanted her ex husband out of her life as he was getting remarried, so it was better for her to bury the issue. 10 by Arya Thank you Ouranos for taking the time for such a detailed answer! Ouranos wrote:The chart seems to be pointing to SA L7 as the real father for the second person you are inquiring about. Do you find this person to be Saturnian? Like working as an accountant, mathematician, a teacher or holding a status of authority in a large corporation? Actually no, I met him once and he was very sunny, warm, talkative, funny, not at all saturnian, his job wasn't either. In his birth chart he has Jupiter conjunct his moon in leo, so more of a Jupiter/Sun man than Saturn as far as I know. Ouranos wrote: And I would use the 4th H (Mercury) as your real father connected to this person (Saturn) - Planetary Day SaturnL7 Planetary Hour MercuryL4 - MercuryL4 conjunct SaturnL7 (Rulership, Cadent, Out of Sect) - Moon Ruler of ASC in 7th - You share something with this person albeit in Detriment - MercuryL7 of your mother's ex-husband (turned) and L4 of father peregrine and cadent (no legal status) conjunct SA (In rulership but out of sect). - SA Heliacal rising conjunct MercuryL4. Best to you, As explained above my mother doesn't know the truth, so I guess I will have to wait to see if the DNA gives me more clues. Still, I don't find Saturn as representing him at all, so I tend to agree more with AmeliaS interpretation, otherwise what could such a prominent Jupiter mean in this context? 11 by Ouranos Thank you Arya for your feedback! And relieved to see that I am not your father....' I got carried away by the 4th and the 7th H without seeing what is obvious which is the Sun and the Moon Angular in aspect. Some astrologers will say that in a day chart (here!) the Sun is co-significator of the father. And Derek Appleby says 'it may have a supportive testimony because its nature is the same as that of the matter under investigation' In all cases, always best to let the chart speak instead of having rigid rules like who rules the father (Sun, Saturn, the 4th or the 10th H ?) Now going back to the drawing board, Amelia was right to focus on this Sun/Moon aspect Angular with Jupiter combust. The Moon (your mother) in Detriment may not be the best option to unravel the truth, if she ever knows herself. And the Moon was last sextile the Sun for she already told you what she knows. Jupiter in Pisces and ruling the intercepted 6th of laboratories seems your best option with 2 restrictions - Combust (Hard to shine the truth on this matter already pointed out by Amelia) - Jupiter in rulership but the Moon (co-ruler of yourself) in Detriment. Time, delays, doubts and little power to get a grasp of the full picture. And early ASC with the Moon in Detriment in the 7th of consultants also includes astrologers advices! Best of luck and keep us updated! Ouranos Blessings! Quote Thu Mar 03, 2022 2:03 pm

In fact, it makes a lot of sense. A combust planet can and often indicate ill health or death. Thanks Tanit for clarifying about the early ascendant & Ouranos for chiming in!
