Rishi Sunak
Rishi Sunak (born 12 May 1980) is a British politician and member of the Conservative Party. He served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2020 to 2022, having previously been the Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2019 to 2020. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Richmond (Yorks) since 2015.
On 8 July 2022, he announced his candidacy to replace Johnson in the Conservative party leadership election. On 20 July, he polled first amongst Conservative MPs, and is now competing in a postal vote of party members against Liz Truss, with the results to be announced on 5 September 2022.
