relocating

Hello everyone!

About moving to another country. What house should i choose for the location I intend to move to:
7th - representing my destination
OR
12th - representing 4th house from the 9th, considering that I want to relocate abroad.

I was taught to use the 7th (your 7th) as to new location. But look at your own 4th house to see if the aspects there are better than the aspects between your first and the 7th: if they're better, it might be better to stay put.

Hi VoyagerGirl!

Well, actually I don't know what to choose:
4th house with Mars rx in Yaurus and hard aspects, or
7th house with Saturn in Leo, hard aspects.

Still, I know the rule is what you say: choose 7th, but if we come to think of it, this house pertains to a normal moving, in your own country. And if you move in a different country, than it should be correct to take 4th from 9th.

I insist on understanding this because I think of another type of example where in order to see the kind of response you would get for obtaining a visa, you need to give the 9th house for that country and the 10th from the 9th to the authorities of that country.

Now, is this right or those who taught me this are very wrong??? :?:

Hi Dalela

I wondered if you have looked at your significator(s) aspects to the ruler of the 9th to see firstly if you would be moving to foreign soil. Before you start turning the chart I mean. The ruler and any planets placed in the 9th may lead you to the house you should be looking at.

Just a thought.

Regarding moves to a new location: we don?t use the 7th house to judge the new location because it is the 4th from the 4th, but because the 7th house generally represents new destinations (eg., in a voyage, it represents the place that we are moving to).

If you are considering an overseas move, you need to be wary of any obvious signs of affliction occurring in the 4th (property and home) 7th (the place you are moving to) or 9th (overseas influence generally). It sounds like you have affliction in the 4th and the 7th; which suggests difficulties in the proposed move.

Hello Deb and many thanks!

The chart really doesn't look good to me for moving away, I had a bad feeling about it. Now all is clear.
There is the other part of my question regarding obtaining a visa from the authorities of a foreign country. Should I judge the response they are to give by analysing the 10th house from the 9th??? Simply the 10th? Or the 9th???

I think there will be equally valid views on this, but I always try to avoid turning the chart unless necessary, so I would probably judge straight from the 10th house. However, the symbolism may speak for itself so be open to evaluating it from various perspectives. Overall, if 10th house influences look strong and fortunate I see no reason to expect problems concerning status or dealing with authority.

Hello Deb!

I really appreciate your help!
I must confess though that i don't fully master the turning technique. i mean, when do we need to turn or when do we have enough info from the actual chart? Can you help me clarify the issue or send me to a web page where I can read about the subtleties of interpreting a chart without turning it?

many thanks
