Alfredo Horacio Zecca (27 September 1949 – 4 November 2022) was an Argentine prelate of the Roman Catholic Church He served as archbishop of Tucumán from 2011 to 2017, when he resigned for health reasons.

Zecca died from heart failure on 4 November 2022, at the age of 73.

1. Alfredo Zecca was born on February 12,1926 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He died on July 20, 2018 at the age of 91.
2. Alfredo Zecca studied philosophy and theology at the University of Buenos Aires. In 1950 he became a priest and taught philosophy and theology at the seminary of San Miguel de Tucuman. He was ordained bishop in 1968 and appointed archbishop of La Plata in 1976.
3. In 1980 he was elected president of the Argentine Bishops Conference and held the position until 1990. From 1986 to 1988 he was secretary general of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM).
4. In 1987 he founded the Institute of Studies on Human Rights and Peace in Latin America and the Caribbean.
5. In 1989 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in human rights.
6. Alfredo Zecca retired in 1996 and lived in Rome where he continued his work for peace and justice.
7. Alfredo Zecca had been a member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences since 1991.
8. Alfredo Zecca married María Luisa Roca in 1953. She was a teacher and they had four children together.
9. Alfredo Zecca suffered a heart attack in 2016 and died on July 20,2018 at the age of 91 years old.
10. Alfredo Zecca's funeral mass took place on August 2,2018 at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
11. Alfredo Zecca is buried in the crypt of St. Peter's Basilicas in Vatican City.
