Is the full moon in a natal chart auspicious or not?

1
I think the full moon in natal chart is inauspicious at least for one planet (if there's a reception, than the planet being accepted is lucky and the planet that accepts is unlucky) since the full moon phase always represents the sun and the moon are in opposition aspect. However, an experienced astrologer once told me that the full moon in one's natal chart is auspicious even if there is no reception between the sun and the moon. I guess his point is on that when there's full moon, the moon can reflect the sunlight to the greatest extent, and the full moon is shining. I'm now confused about whether the full moon in one's natal chart is auspicious or not.

reading your question again - this is an edit of all that is written below - you are very specific with regard to it being in relation to a ''natal'' chart... i would say it depends entirely on the rest of the chart, but in general - i think the generalization holds.. oh and welcome to skyscript!

-----------------------

the problem with generalizations is .... they are generalizations, lol... the upside is that they force you to think of what the logic to them might be..

indian astrology maintains full moons are auspicious as opposed to new moons.. now, we can get more specific and ask what exactly do they mean by all this... i think the basic idea is that the waxing moon, especially as it increases in light as it moves towards the full moon is considered positive and beneficial.. this cycle is much like a plant in its growth phase.... the moon still remains full of light for a period after the full moon which could be taken to be fortuitous as well, although just where the break off point is - is anyone's guess... the difference though is that it is now a wanning moon as opposed to a waxing moon...

if you like the concept of the importance of diurnal verses nocturnal charts as advocated via hellenistic astrology - this could take on additional importance as well...

skipping beyond the generalizations, the concept of the lunar mansions is quite interesting.. i believe this is an arabic invention where different mansions of this same sun-moon cycle, are given certain characteristics and qualities... for example, one of the best times to be involved in secretive activities is in the very end phase of the sun-moon cycle, 1 or 2 days before the new moon.. so, it depends on the intent and focus of the particular chart as to whether it is auspicious or not... it has to be qualified in some way..

i remember enjoying reading ben dykes book on choices and inceptions because of the detail the translation went into on the concept of when is the best time to buy or sell something.. it all revolved around the sun-moon cycle, or phase of the moon! so i think it depends on what the specific goal or task is, as to whether it is ''auspicious'' or not.. and it is all based off this same cycle of the moon..

sorry, if that is not an adequate response to get you going here.. it is a field of study worthy of the upmost attention and importance! i consider it in all my actions... we have just passed the new moon in the past day or so... additionally i would consider the aspects that the moon are making as being very relevant to this specific question of yours... there are additional considerations too, so again - generalizations quickly break down when you add these additional astrological considerations into the mix.. cheers..
