??????The article was originally published in the members-only version of OPA’s magazine: The Career Astrologer (Sept 2020 Equinox) pp.10-16.

Inspired by Deb's article, I have reorganized my astrological logic.

1. In astrology, Ingress charts are drawn when the Sun enters a new sign or cardinal point (i.e., the Aries Point at 0°, Cancer Point at 90°, Libra Point at 180°, and Capricorn Point at 270°). This type of chart is seen as a way to provide predictions for a specific time and location.

When the Sun reaches specific positions on the ecliptic, astrologers draw SIngress charts at these moments.

Each Ingress chart presents new themes and potential scenarios. This could impact an individual's life, as well as the broader society or nation.

2. Based on the idea of considering the country or nation as a whole, the capital of a country is typically used as the location for the Ingress.

The capital is generally where a country's governmental agencies and administrative departments are situated. It offers a central location for the government to effectively conduct its day-to-day operations and decision-making.

It also symbolizes the nation, embodying a country's history, culture, and national identity. The architecture, historical landmarks, and cultural celebrations of the capital can all be part of national identity.

The capital is often a crucial place for international exchange. Many countries have their foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations situated in the capital, making it a vital place for diplomatic activities between nations.

In many instances, the capital is also the principal economic hub of the country. It may host important business districts, financial institutions, and industry bases of the country.

Furthermore, the capital is typically the country's media and information distribution center. Major news organizations, TV stations, and publishers are often located in the capital, giving it a crucial role in the collection and dissemination of information.

3. Since Ingress charts are based on the Sun entering the four cardinal points and it enters thoses cardianl points at a specific time each year, therefore ,countries and regions in proximity will have very similar charts.

Some may think this might not be easy to differentiate. However, according to our experience and observations, the politics of neighboring regions often influence each other, and this influence often leads to similarities in their political systems or policies. This influence may come about through trade, migration, cultural exchanges, shared historical experiences, etc. For example, many countries in Europe have chosen democratic systems and have collectively formed a political and economic alliance such as the European Union.

Additionally, geopolitics is a significant factor influencing the political similarities of neighboring regions. Geopolitical theory suggests that a country's geographical location, the political situation of its neighbors, and the regional resource distribution can all influence a country's political behavior and policy choices. For example, the oil resources in the Middle East affect the political systems and foreign policies of the countries in the region.

Therefore, although each country or region has its unique history, culture, and social structure, which also have profound impacts on its politics.neighboring regions may have political similarities, Therefore, when comparing and analyzing the politics of neighboring regions, we also need to consider these similar characteristics.

4. According to Deborah Houlding's research, the Aries Ingress has a strong correlation with a ruler's ascension to the throne or succession.

Although Deborah Houlding does not explicitly state why the Aries Ingress chart should be used instead of Ingress charts for the other cardinal points, based on the context, I surmise that the reason for choosing it is the same as the reason for using the Ingress chart to view rulers and leaders: the Sun is a symbol of a monarch, leader, and ruler. Among the four cardinal points, the Sun only has its exaltation in Aries, as well as its triplicity dignity during the day. Hence it is reasonable to think the Aries Ingress chart has a great correlation with presidential elections.

5. The Aries Ingress may not directly predict which candidate will become president. I have also temporarily given up the logic that the 10th House of Ingress charts represents the ruling party, and the 4th House represents the opposition party. To some extent, I think it can still serve as a reference, but using this method to predict a party rotation seems a bit rough. I haven't yet figured out the logic in this area. ????

6.If a candidate's natal chart or other significant event charts (such as the chart when they are officially nominated as a presidential candidate) align with the Aries Ingress or demonstrate a mutual resonance, we may speculate that this candidate can be seen as a "chosen one" in accordance with public opinion or celestial indications (astrological charts).

Why am I less inclined to use the chart of the start or end of the voting on Election Day (Opening or close of poll chart)? While it could serve as an important reference, there are also situations of early voting. For instance, in this Turkish presidential election, news reports say that there are 3.5 million overseas Turkish voters who would cast their votes in advance. （reference: in Chinese , https://www.thenewslens.com/article/185515)

This means that we do not have a stable and comprehensive range of time and location which are essential elements for determining and constructing astrological charts.

7. Can Ingress charts also be used for local government elections or for other elections as well? I haven't clarified the logic behind this yet.

Oh I think I do though - it has to be the Aries ingress, not any other, because the whole principle is about the Sun being symbolic of the king (ruler), and so the point is explicitly made in the sources that the Sun's return to its start point at 0° Aries begins a new cycle for the Sun, which is reflective of the new political cycle that begins when the ruler is changed. Hence, if a nation gains a new ruler at any time in the year, the Aries ingress chart of that year was used as a symbolic accession chart.

I hope to make some form of that presentation for Skyscript members later this year, and then it can go up on this website in good time before the next ingress. One thing to note though - there is no evidence that the ancient astrologers used the Aries ingress chart to predict who would be ruler, and they didn't expect every ingress to be of relevance in this way. It is only if there is a change of ruler that the ingress becomes an accession chart. So let's say next year Biden remains the president, his accession chart will not be this year's ingress it will remain the one from the year that he first became president.

It was such a good technique to use for Trump because it was known that year that the ruler in the US had to be changed. And what I have found is that there is good association between the themes of the ingress in the year of the change, and those that step up and act as figureheads for those changes.

So the technique is very useful, but as part of an astrological theme and not a stand alone chart by itself.

Most presidents in democratic countries will have term limits. For example, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which took effect in 1951, stipulates that each term of the president is 4 years. The president cannot be re-elected more than twice, nor someone who fills an unexpired presidential term lasting more than two years is also prohibited from being elected president more than once.

I call this the 'political cycle'.????

Therefore, at the end of the incumbent president's term, the ingress of that year will become particularly sensitive, because the ruler will change, and the ingress will become someone's accession chart.
