Baseball Series: Blue Jays vs Yankees

1
A new day tomorrow and the start of a new 3 game series between the Jays and Yankees in Toronto, 7:07 PM EDT start time.

Yankees 1st and 10th
L1 Mars 19 Libra in the 7th
Moon sep square Uranus
Mars applying to no one

Jays 7th and 4th
L7 Venus 20 Leo in 5th (rejoices)
Moon app. conjunct Saturn (L10)
Venus app. square Uranus

Mars is heavier, in detriment (nastier) and so far the Moon giving an assisting planet by square has proven favourable. Plus, Jupiter (benefic) will conjunct the Asc roughly 2hrs and 37' into the game, around 9:44pm.

Venus is the lighter planet, to date, the Moon giving an assisting planet by conjunction has been neutral and in this case Saturn is the ruler of the Yankees 10th (honour) so can't see it helping the Jays. The significator involved in a square to a malefic has been harmful to date. Not quite sure if Venus being in the house she rejoices in will make her stronger or not so treating as insignificant for now.

Probable Outcome: Yankees win

Hello Janecga, Just wanted to drop in to say I appreciate you keeping this topic going. I've been following along with interest still. I have to have surgery tomorrow and will need some time to recover but hoping to contribute more here again once that's wrapped up.

I did have a question for you about your mention of Venus in the above quote. Do you typically not give any leeway to planets so near a house cusp (I usually use the 5° rule) or are you considering the fact that as the game progresses in real-time Venus will move deeper into the 5th by primary/diurnal motion?
thoughts are just thoughts

Re: Baseball Series: Blue Jays vs Yankees

The Yankees have a lot of action on their daily MC with a Grand Trine with Mars and Saturn (over achiever)
Advantage - New York

---------------
Jason - Good luck for your surgery tomorrow!

Regarding the motions of the planets, Janegca had several examples that something happened when the planets crossed the Angles.
To be honest, my view is to look at Angular planets only along with the ones that will become Angular during the game. And the aspects they make to the Angles.
But what belongs to whom is another story.
I am still in the learning curve with this system of Mason and Janegca's thread gave me the opportunity to test it.

Be well!
Ouranos
Blessings!

Hi Jason, thank you for the kind words, hope all goes well for you today and you have a speedy recovery.

I can't say that I have ever paid much attention to Ptolemy's 5° rule; I generally base a planet's strength or power to produce effects on its house position: angular, succedent or cadent. In the last 20 or so years I've modified my approach; while I still base strength/power on the house position I've found that a planet on the cadent side of an angle but within 3-5° of the angle has a strong effect on the matters ruled by the angular house but a much weaker effect on other matters except when, by profection, he is made angular, which I find to be true for cadent planets in general. I think Valens, to some degree, justifies this approach in his description of destructive/non-destructive rays in Book III.3.

I haven't quite decided if the same rule applies for other house cusps; possibly something I need to pay more attention to when looking at profections; I have found that a partile aspect to the cusp of any house is effective when the sign the cusp occupies comes to be the profected sign for the year.

Take care, hope to see you posting again soon.

Hi Ouranos, I am still on a learning curve with everything...lol.

I took a look at the link you gave earlier; they were using the 1st for the home team and the 7th for the challenger which is the reverse of what I am doing plus, I am not convinced statistical sampling is the best approach to working things out. I was thinking of a database being useful in identifying situations that match model criteria and then examining the matching cases, each in its own context; I really just want the software to do the grunt work, the calculating and sorting out of of positions, aspects, etc. It can get old fast and I can be quite lazy about it.

Good luck to us both today! (Although in my heart I want the Jays to roll over the Yankees  )

I thought about this that you are working with your head upside down!
Just change her stats for win/loose or loose/win and you will get your results.
Another thing I have found interesting is when she de-construct the idea of soft aspects in favor and hard aspects against.
If I had to choose a family of aspects for winning, this would be the square family.
She addresses some issues but not all of them like Angularity and Rulership.
She has a good sample but we're getting there. One day a software will do the grunt work!

Good luck for today!
Blessings!

Last night the Yankees won 2-0
Tonight some grey areas

Yankees
A Grand Trine between natal Mars and Saturn but at the same time MC=MA/SA which signals one's own death.
At the beginning of the game, an inconjunct from Moon to their AS = Unplanned change.

Blue Jays
The daily AS squaring the Nodal axis. Good or bad?
Triangulation between Sun/NN/Daily AS
Also semi-square their natal POF.

I will go with the Yankees but I am not confident about this one.
Right now, my record is 8/12
Blessings!

Yeah Ouranos, we both got this one right (although Boo, since Jays lost). Yankees won 2-0. It was a pitching duel through 8 innings then in the top of the 9th Wells hit a 2-run homer off Romano and that was enough for the win. The HR timed to Saturn (L10) conjunct Pluto around 9:21pm. The game ended at 9:36pm so don't know how the Jupiter conjunct Asc would have played out although still guessing it would have benefited the Yankees.

The chart for tonight's game looks almost exactly the same, same place, same start time.

Yankees 1st and 10th
L1 Mars at 19 Libra in 7th
Moon sep conjunct Saturn (L10)
Mars applying to no one

Jays 7th and 4th
L7 Venus at 20 Leo in 5th
Moon app sextile Jupiter (L1)
Venus app square Uranus

Yesterday the Moon gave the Yankees Uranus by square and they certainly pulled off an unexpected win. Today they are being given Saturn by conjunction but see this as neutral. The Jays getting Jupiter is of no help since it is L1. Venus (L7) is still involved in a square to Uranus which I think is hurting them, even without Uranus being given to Yankees by the Moon, it is still on the Yankee side of the chart. So all in all I think it will probably be another Yankee win.

Probable Outcome: Yankees win

Last night, Yankees 6 Blue Jays 0
With only 2 hits the Jays were never in the game.

Tonight, it looks like unfinished business (men left on the bases?)

Yankees
A semi-square between Mercury and the daily MC
A square between Sun and the daily AS
But no support from other planets

Jays
A sextile between Pluto and the daily MC
The daily AS making no aspect.

Let's look at the Moon at 29 Pis 16 at the beginning of the game.
For the Yankees, a sesqui-quadrate to the natal AS
For the Jays, a semi-square to transiting Jupiter, a trine to the natal Moon conjunct the daily POF and a sextile to natal Pluto ruling their daily MC.

I will go with the Jays.

Currently, I am 9/13
Blessings!

As Ouranos said, Jays lost 6-0 and were never in the game :( Some of the timings were interesting:

Neptune conjuncted the Moon around 7:54 PM - the Yankees had a walk, a Judge 2 run home run, and 2 singles between 7:46 and 7:52, ending the 4th inning up 2-0

Between 8:06 and 8:13 when Mars conjuncted the 7th (8:01pm), the Sun (8:11pm), and the Sun conjuncted Mercury (8:13pm) the Jays gave up 2 walks, 2 singles and dealt with a weird deflection of 3rd baseman Chapman's glove on a throw to the plate from left field by Merrifield that let in a 2nd run score although they did manage to get the 3rd out at 3rd on the same play. Yankees ended the 5th inning up 4-0

Pluto moved to conjunct the MC at 8:35pm which correlated to a Peraza (8:36pm) walk and second Judge 2 run home run (8:41pm).

The timing is slightly off, the game started around 7:08-09 which is 6-8 minutes difference in timing.

Tongight's game is same place and time, different day.

Yankees 1st and 10th

L1 Mars at 20 Libra in 7th
Moon sep sextile Pluto
Mars applying to no one

Jays 7th and 4th

L7 Venus at 21 Leo in 5th
Moon app opposition Sun
Venus partile square Uranus

Torn here, will the partile square to Uranus and critical Moon mean Jays push through?

Probable Outcome: my head says Yankees but solely on the basis of my heart (and the Uranus square being partile); Jays win
I am currently 8/15 or 53%, slightly better than a coin toss

Janegca,
Have you found in timing events that is never before and most often after?
I was reading last night on the blog of Anthony Louis that Morin de Villefranche timed Solar and Lunar returns by the mean daily motion of the Sun in RIGHT ASCENSION (R.A.).
https://tonylouis.wordpress.com/2023/09 ... r-returns/
I would need to investigate timing by RA instead of on the ecliptic.
Just an hypothesis.
The overall feeling I have for tonight's game is that no team wants to win. A long shot here!
Good luck for tonight!
Blessings!

It can go either way; I probably should work it out in OA properly but it is too time consuming, so far the 4' x ecliptic motion is putting me in the ballpark (so to speak) so I'm ok with it. If I was actually betting on in game events I would definitely try to find a way to be more precise.

I'm pretty sure the Jays want to win; if they can win 3 of the next 4 they are pretty much guaranteed a play off spot. I really wish I had a better idea about how that Uranus will behave. I'm hoping the partile aspect and Uranus being in Taurus will receive Venus and give her a real boost of energy.

Best wishes!
