The horoscope of Sam Bankman-Fried is interesting as someone who experienced a meteoric rise followed by a spectacular crash. His trial is expected to begin on 3rd October, where faces a long list of criminal charges including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.



Sam became the world’s wealthiest 29-year-old in 2021. Endorsed by a host of celebrities, his apparent genius as a cryptocurrency trader led to him being described as a ‘saviour’ of crypto when he appeared to rescue the market in early 2022 by buying up a large bulk of failing crypto assets. By the end of that year his business empire was destroyed.

His first company, Alameda Research, started in October 2017 when Sam was 25 years old, was a cryptocurrency investment firm. By 2018 its website (now pulled from the web but accessible through the internet archive machine was advertising “decades of experience” whilst claiming “We manage over $100 million in digital assets and trade $600 million to $1.5 billion per day across thousands of products”.

In May 2019 Sam developed FTX Trading Ltd as a centralised cryptocurrency exchange. This became the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency exchange by July 2021 but everything collapsed very suddenly in November 2022, among allegations of financial mismanagement between the two companies he owned – it appears that FTX was basically imagining digitial profits to help make profits for Alameda. It is also alleged that he was misusing customer funds for personal expenses, luxury purchases and to make substantial political donations to parties that would serve his own ends or favour cryto regulation.

In less than one week during November 2022 (as speculation about mismanagement emerged) Sam watched his $32 billion company plunge into bankruptcy. It became the target of investigations by the SEC and the Justice Department. Around $8 billion appears to be missing.


The media loved the story of Sam’s meteoric, which was boosted by romantic marketing that this soon-to-be-the-world’s first trillionaire was the face of a new kind of ‘wealth-power’ creator who could help to end world problems as the face of the ‘effective altruism’ movement favoured by the likes of Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and the Silicon Valley elite.

Sam became connected with the leaders of this movement while at university, and it was the money invested by the leaders of this movement that funded his companies from the start - its ethos is that the most effective and ethical thing a person can do is amass as much wealth as possible and then bring about political change by donating ‘effectively’ in ways that create greater social change than can be done with standard charitable giving.

Sam became a very visible donor to causes—he gave millions to support the Biden campaign in 2020, but he also donated generously to the campaigns of Republican candicates in that election too. Less attention was given to the fact that more than $100 million was given to Sam by the leaders of the EA movement and that it was money generated by this movement that funded his company from the start.

Everything is now looking very morally dubious – everyone is feeling very “played” and very betrayed. Some recent interviews have suggested that he knew the EA angle was really just good for the marketing, although he generally insists that he really is committed to that movement, and still asserts that he was never “about the money”

Hi Deb, Stefan....this is a really interesting chart. Pluto exactly on the descendant afflicted by the square of the Saturn/Mars conjunction and with Venus (Asc ruler) would all point to a propensity for racketeering, crime on a large scale (mores so with Pluto in the overcoming position). Zain describes an afflicted Pluto as being willing to "work cunningly" and use the latest discoveries and inventions to carry out his purposes coupled with a desire to regiment public opinion. This appears to have been Bankman-Fried's main approach. That the planets are elevated in an Air sign indicates a fall (especially with Saturn involved). He also has that close conjunction between Uranus/Neptune (invention/fraud) sextile Pluto from the 9th indicating what will most likely will land him in the courts (9th).

I found it really interesting to look at where the square and sextile planets landed in his profected houses in the key years; using equal houses for the profections.

• November 22, 2022 - Age 30 - FTX valued at $32 billion goes into bankruptcy - Prof in 7th (partners, disputes) - the 10th house planets are in the 3rd (communications, by opposition to the 9th, publicity, courts), Pluto is in the profected 12th (secrets, intelligence agencies, crime) and the 9th house planets are in the 2nd (personal money)
• December 6, 2022 - Age 30 - arrested for fraud - same as above
• October 3, 2023 -Age 31- trial date - Prof in 8th (other people's money, debts) - the 10th house planets are in the profected 2nd (personal finances), Pluto is in the profected 11th conjunct the 12th (associates/crime) and the 9th house planets are in the profected 1st (person)

I wonder, with the 7th (partners) and 11th (associates) connections if he really set all this up on his own or had partners. You did mention he had initial backers and I seem to recall reading he donated heavily to both political parties to cover his bases.

Would ANY astrologer allow someone with Jupiter on 5th cusp (Gambling) and in detriment invest their hard earned money.

Apparently there had been delays due to the disruptioncaused by the Trump trial on the other side of the street. So interesting that these two big-time fraud cases are being heard at the same time and place.

Looks like Sam Bankman-Fried was convicted yesterday.

I've checked on the three part planetary pictures that are equal his personal points (especially the Aries Point) and was amazed by the amount of accurate details. Just found the article and read it. I have to disagree with its concluding remark (shown below). The Uranian system strongly supports the deterministic world view and "rejects" the idea of free will. Therefore, even if one could predict, in advance, all undesirable events, such as natural disasters and terror attacks, one could not prevent any of its sorrowful results and "save lives", because those results were predetermined and "written" into the natal charts of everyone involved. So, IMHO, this final conclusion or recommendation of the article is extremely self contradictory, unless we're talking about the ability to use chaos magick and switch to a parallel universe, where the event didn't take place.

I agree with you. One cannot replace God. If only, we can become more conscious.
