Skyscript Astrology Forum

Hi there - I'm not sure if the opinion poll is 'official' or not. I've put my vote in. I think the look and 'feel' of the poll is much improved. The thing that I miss from the old one is being able to clearly see all the most recent posts on each board. This seemed easier to do in the old style format. Other than that it's great, and the overall Skyscript new look site is fab. Thanks to all involved. Ed

the search feature at skyscript is broken...

as an example... i typed in the word ukraine just a moment ago... posts from 2023 show up and then nothing until back to 2008 and further back... same deal on all the other topics... i posted a reply to a thread i made in 2022 on israel.. when i went to look for that post - many posts on israel pop up from 2023, and then nothing until back to 2010.... the whole time frame 2011 to 2021 -missing... clearly something is broken.. i am not sure if it can be fixed either.. one has to do a manual search, as the search feature is broken... hopefully no one has to use it!

Hi James...I know this is just a stop-gap but might help you find what you are after for now, try using Google and search with the "site" and "before" filters, for example, site:skyscript.co.uk before:2021 +israel ... not sure it will find them all but it does find older posts

thanks! i am not searching for anything now, but your suggestion is helpful for anyone else that might be.. i just wanted to draw attention to this, as i am not sure that deb or the website people are aware of this major glitch..

Due to being at a conference, then being ill, then suffering floods and losing my computer system, I was out of action when the ‘forum satisfaction poll’ was posted – but I am going to be removing that thread today. This forum is provided for news and notices about astrology, and it is completely pointless (and demoralising) for issues that have already been addressed to be raised by the same few members again, along with stated preferences for the forum as it was created twenty years ago – even though that had ceased to function effectively and was no longer reliable. As I have already stated, there are issues that are still awaiting implementation, and there are improvements still to be made that are dependent on developments being made to other areas of the site first. There is a lot going on here and I ask for your patience over the more minor details as I cannot be everywhere at once.
I wasn't aware that the search feature is skipping years – I’ll add that to the list of things to be investigated.
Also, I would ask that no one interrupts any other thread by posting an off-topic comment designed to get my attention. I do everything I can to be responsive to legitimate forum or site-wide concerns, and there is a contact link in the footer of every page on this site that allows users to contact me personally if you are experiencing a problem.
Please use this forum with a good spirit and enjoy the facilities that are provided with good spirit.
