3. Furthermore, the Moon had just separated from Jupiter. The Moon rules the Eleventh House here. Therefore, this conjunction and separation symbolise the fact that she hooked up with my friend after arriving in our city.

The Pleasure Trade through House Meaning

4. Jupiter is in Taurus and is ruled by Venus. The Second House cusp is in Libra here. From the perspective of the Seventh House, the Second House would be the turned Eighth House and would be "other people's money". 11. Alternatively, if we view Venus as the natural significator of the pleasure trade rather than the significator through house meaning of other people's money, then Jupiter, being in the house ruled by Venus, is in the house of the pleasure trade.

Prognosis

12. Because Jupiter is in a fixed sign, and because Jupiter is at the cusp of the Ninth House, I suspect that she will stay in our city for much longer than the two weeks that she claimed.

Overturning the Analysis

13. However, it is also possible that my entire analysis is incorrect. Why? While Jupiter is in the radical Ninth House, it is in its turned Third House. In our situation, it seems to me to make more sense, if the girl's significator were in both her turned Ninth House (her abroad) and the radical Third House (my neighbourhood). Nevertheless, the principal alternative, e.g., Saturn (e.g., the Fifth House, being the Seventh House turned from the Eleventh House), just does not make sense to me.

14. The only planet that is in its turned Ninth House in this chart seems to be Mars, e.g., if we start counting from the Eighth House cusp in Aries. However, there is no rationale for assigning Mars to the girl.

15. While I have attempted to identify the pleasure trade through house meaning and natural signification above, upon reflection natural signification makes more sense to me. This is because her being in the pleasure trade is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing event. Therefore, it should be shown through her significator being in a particular house or sign, rather than her significator aspecting another planet.

If we are confident about the planet signifying the girl, and if we are confident about Venus being a natural significator of the pleasure trade, then the answer could be as simple as finding Jupiter in Taurus. Everything else is just a distraction.

In my original post, I mentioned my unease at the fact that Jupiter was in the radical Ninth House rather than the turned Ninth House. Having thought about this some more, I think I can rationalize this thus: I, as the querent, does not figure greatly in the chart. Therefore, the Ninth House can be thought of indicating "abroad" in general, rather than "abroad" as relative to my current location. If I figure more strongly in the chart, e.g., the question becoming "What is her real purpose in coming to MY city", then perhaps we would expect the planet signifying the girl to be in the radical Third House (e.g., the turned Ninth House) instead.

The location is Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - where the question was first asked and the chart was first cast.

I have thought about the chart some more - more particularly, the significations of Saturn and Mercury in the chart. My speculations are as follows:

1. Saturn rules the Fifth House.

2. Mercury rules the Eleventh House.

3. The Fifth House stands for the pleasure trade. Therefore, the Eleventh House stands for the staff of the pleasure trade.

4. In the chart, Mercury connected Jupiter (the girl) with Saturn (the pleasure trade) in the recent past. Therefore, the girl was contacted by someone working in the pleasure trade, and she agreed to come here to make some quick money. I say that the girl "was contacted by" (rather than "contacted"), because Mercury is the quicker planet and the applying planet.

5. Indeed, Mercury connects Venus (other people's money) first through antiscia, then Jupiter (the girl), then Saturn (the pleasure trade), then Mars (the girl's money).

Both Mercury (someone working in the pleasure trade) and Mars (the girl's money) are ruled by Saturn (the pleasure trade by house meaning - here delineated as an establishment provisioning pleasure), and Saturn exalts Venus (the natural significator of the pleasure trade - the pleasure trade in general; alternatively, other people's money).

6. In the chart, Jupiter is crossing into the Ninth House while inside Taurus, (rather than entering Taurus after crossing into the Ninth House). Therefore, we can speculate that the girl had been working in the pleasure trade in her home country even before coming here.
