Used car, is it a good buy? 1 by Part of Fortune We want to have a car. My partner has been looking into magazines, Consumer Report and Car and Driver. Also reading various reviews via internet. One of the cars he researched is 2015 Prius Two. The horary question is asked by my partner. This will be our first car search by the way (never owned a car before). For several decades we managed perfectly by taking public transportation going here and there (we have good bus service). It's rather crazy to buy a car in San Francisco's current climate (The Daily Mail for instance has regular features about crime in our city, unfortunately true). But we decided we need one. Data: Tue. 6 February 2024 @11:26 am, San Francisco, CA (US) Hour of the Moon. Although the Moon is exalted in Taurus, it is a day chart. The chart is not radical, I think. I haven't been doing horary for some time and am quite rusty at the moment. I'm not sure where to locate the car that we are interested in. Therefore, I have three different ways to look into the chart. First method: The car is represented by 1st house (ship, Lilly). Taurus ascendant at 22:57. Venus is in Capricorn, and she has dignity. Venus (car) is in Jupiter's house (H9) and in term of Jupiter. Jupiter is representing the seller's 2nd house (H8, Sagittarius). Venus is moving to trine Asc. and Uranus. Is Uranus's conjunction to Asc. malefic in long term or perhaps a sudden change of our lifestyle activity such as short distance traveling to long distance (H9) explorations? Also, Algol is near the ascendant (should I worry?) and Venus is a degree away from exact square to Nodes. . . they look malefic in 6 and 12th houses. Second method: Since the car is not our property yet (H2), I would like to use our 3rd house for the car. L3 Moon (car) is placed in derived 2nd house of the seller (H7). The Moon is in Capricorn (detriment) and termed by Venus (that's us). The Moon is first applying sextile to Saturn (L9, L10 & L11) and after that trine to Jupiter (L8). Saturn is in Venus' term and weak in Pisces shows not high priced. Third method: Mercury is the car. The planet is conjunct MC. Saturn has power over Mercury. Mercury is also applying to Jupiter by square but the Moon will reach to Jupiter before Mercury. Mercury represents the car as well as our pocket (H2). Mercury's conjunction to MC (H10) is about the price of the car which is $14,000. What is your opinion, is this car a good buy? Quote Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:53 am
Re: Used car, is it a good buy? 2 by Georgius Four comments: 1) The Moon is the natural significator of moving around, so one might say the chart is radical because it's in the house of other persons property. That's significant. 2) Mercury is in its own Egyptian term and so is Venus. Both have some dignities… 3) The car is some other person's moveable property now. So there is a fourth possibility: Ruler of the 8th house, Jupiter, in the 12th respectively turned 6th. 4) But I plead for Mercury as significator of the car and point to William Lilly's question in his "Christian Astrology" if he shall buy Master B.'s houses: He takes the original 4th for the houses in spite of the fact that they were Master B.'s property as he asked. Mercury ruler of the 4th is angular and elevated: It is in the center of interest concerning the question. Transsaturnians I do not consider. Algol is more than 3° before the ascendant. I do not consider it either. So the car, Mercury, has some lesser dignities, it's dispositor, Saturn, is in his own face: It is quite ok. First you both (Moon) have to pay (reduction: Saturn), than you enjoy (expansion of possibilities: Jupiter). Edited to correct section 1 and clear section 4. Re: Used car, is it a good buy? 3 by Part of Fortune Hi Georgius, Thank you very much for your advice and interpretation which helped me to see things I missed from the chart. The latest news: my partner contacted the seller, and we are going to test drive the car tomorrow. I will let you know what the result is. Thanks again. Quote Thu Feb 08, 2024 4:48 am
Re: Used car, is it a good buy? 4 by Georgius I had to correct a mistake concernig the moon in section 1. She is not angular, Mercury is. Sue Ward describes that Lilly seems to consider a chart as radical if the lord respectively the lady of the hour is a natural or accidental significator of the matter asked about and likewise if he or she is placed in a significant house. Re: Used car, is it a good buy? 5 by Ouranos In a question Should I buy this car? we consider the 1st (I), 2nd (buy) and 3rd (car). The car is ruled by the 3rd House and the Moon The Moon in detriment (it is a used item, not a new car and on sale in the 8th - turned 2nd of the seller) Sextile Saturn (reliable) and trine Jupiter (a good deal) The buyer (you VE) comes together with the seller (MA) and the Moon (the car) translates to both. On a side note, the Moon is conjunct Cupido (of relationships). The buyer is not alone. A family affair so to speak! Enjoy! Ouranos Blessings! Quote Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:19 am
Re: Used car, is it a good buy? 6 by Part of Fortune Georgius, Ouranos - WE GOT THE CAR! Thanks to you guys' positive reviews, my partner and I enthusiastically went to see the car. Funny, before we walked into the Toyota building, I spotted our car through their windows. There were several cars parked inside, but the pale light aquamarine color caught my eyes. . . later we learned the color is called Sea Glass Pearl -- so the Moon represents the car. The car was beyond our expectations -- the interior and exterior were so clean it looked like a new car. According to the dealer, the previous owner had done regular maintenance. The car is well preserved, so it came with a one-year warranty. The inspection and cleaning were done at Toyota dealer's central California facility; therefore when my partner spotted this car on the dealer's web site, it hadn't yet arrived at the San Francisco location. Rather amazing that the car arrived on the same day when he called for the appointment. Interestingly, we three (the chart, my partner and I, have partile relationships); my natal Sun (Cappy) and his ascendant are conjunct. My Sun and his ascendant are both trine the chart's 22 Taurus 57 ascendant (also other favorable aspects with the rest of our charts). We got to the dealer around 11 am on Thursday but during the middle of our transaction we ran into a computer network problem (the entire place was stalled for two hours because it was impossible to get the final cost). Mercury (L2) conjunct MC is probably the cause but other than that everything went well. However, because of the car insurance, additional warranties, not to mention adding security app (police can track down the location of a stolen car), there was so much extra cost piled up on the original price of $14,000 (though it was our decision). Besides Saturn, I wonder if the Sun (L4, security) placed in 10th house could have added the extra cost. Anyway, it was around 3:05 pm technically that the car became 100% ours. Today, we picked up the car from the dealer. Again, I really appreciate your helpful readings. I think my brain seems to be working better than when I started. Best wishes to both of you!
