Hi ... hoping someone knows which house system was used for the charts in the appendix of the above book. It appears to be a quadrant system as the MC/IC, Asc/Desc fall on the cusps of the angular houses but I've tried every system I know of and can't match his succedent and cadent house cusps.

Not a big deal as planet positions are usually close to Placidus positions but not knowing is annoying...lol

It could be Topocentric, which gives intermediate cusps very close to those of Placidus. It seems that Adolf Weiss moved to Argentina and this suggests that he may have had some connection with Vendel Polich and Anthony Nelson Page who devised the system. Both worked in Argentina. Another option might be Koch. If you post some charts it should be fairly easy to compare with alternative house systems.

Here is a review of the book 'Cornerstones of Astrology' by Friedrich 'Sinbad' Schwickert (1837-1930) and Adolf Weiss (1888-1956) on the website of Karen Christino.
No mention of the House system used but 'an unusual book with a curious history that was inspired by Jean-Baptiste Morin de Villefranche.'

Hi astralwanderer ... thanks for the reference. I did try Topocentric, along with a number of other systems available in Janus, all with no luck. Sadly, I could not find any information within the text itself; unless I've just missed it completely.

Thanks Ouranos. I haven't been able to find anything on the house system in the book or any information about Schwikert and Weiss and their methods ; possibly something exists on German sites but so far my searches have not turned up much. I have tried numerous house systems in Janus, including Morinus and Topocentric, all without any luck, can't get the intermediate cusps to match those given in the chart examples. Not a major problem as the angles match.

Hi there - could you post a couple of charts with data and ASC, MC and intermediate cusps, it would be interesting to try and solve this mystery.

Hi Ed ... here's the 1st chart as it appears in the text and what it looks like in PlanetDance - Various House Systems (thanks, didn't know about that feature). The chart in PlanetDance and Janus has the MC off by 3' but otherwise reasonably close.
As you can see, the intermediate cusps are strange; the 2nd is close to the Regio but then the 3rd cusp is way off; similarly with the 5th and 6th cusps.

And here's the 2nd chart, there's a problem with the intermediate cusps and the nodes. The text also has Luxemburg for the birth place but when I checked Astrodatabank discovered it was really Laxenberg, Austria.
Now this one does look like Regio! ...going to do a quick check on a few more and get back to you; perhaps its just typos in the first chart and my old eyes misreading the 2nd charts values. Will edit this post with findings.

Edit: Yes, checked a few others and they all are close to Regio cusps so that is most likely the house system the text is using. TY again for your help.

Yes - I think that is the most likely system. I think the first chart you displayed is likely to contain calculation errors.
