Will I win a green card in the DV-2025 lottery? 1 by enufisenuf Hello, everyone! My first post here Last autumn I participated in the DV-2025 lottery and now am waiting for the results. The situation in my home country is very bleak, to put it mildly, and I really want to get out. If I win, it will make my life so much easier, and if not, well, I'll be looking for other ways to leave. For those who don't know, the winners of the lottery who successfully pass the future interview and have all the necessary documents, will be able to live in the US legally and will have the same benefits as the US citizens except that they can't vote and I think they have it slightly easier in terms of taxes (not sure) The reason why I'm posting this question is because a) it's very important to me and b) I'm not sure if my interpretation is correct. As you might have noticed, the chart is several months old. I've been returning to it now and then but still can't make my mind up on what I think about it. The thing is that I'm not sure if I phrased the original question well. If I win the lottery, I'm not actually guaranteed to get a green card. For example, if I win but my number is 70 000, the probability that I receive it in the end is very small. It's losing as much as it is winning. So knowing that, I wanted to cram as much information as possible into my question but still keep it simple. Even then it would probably be phrased better as "Will I get a green card via the DV-2025 lottery?" You see? Winning is not per se the same thing as actually getting it. Ugh... Well, at least I know what I wanted to learn originally even if the question itself is clumsy. Hopefully that's what matters Anyway, here's my take on it. I am Venus and the Moon and the lottery is Saturn (5th house in whole signs). I've heard that in some cases the 11th house can be used for lotteries and it might be the case here because it's not simply gambling money out of boredom and I'm not doing it just for fun but the last year's negative results showed me that I should use the 5th house this time And if we're going with the significators I mentioned, there's a chance! Right?.. The Moon has just separated from Venus (me) and the next aspect it's going to make is with Saturn. There are two important things though. The first is that the next aspect of the Moon is going to happen when it changes signs. I personally don't think it matters much but I'm not super experienced in horary so maybe some of you all will disagree. And the second is that the next aspect is square, and it squares Saturn! It's as if winning is actually a bad thing for me. And that's really strange. At least at this point in time I can't think of reasons why winning can be undesirable for me. I mean, they do exist, but they pale in comparison to the good stuff that it will bring me. So my take is that maybe I do win it but my winning number is barely good (if that makes sense) and my interview will be among the last ones. Also there may be some other troubles along the way. But anyway, the aspect IS there, so the final answer seems like a "yes" to me. Still, the objective probability of winning this lottery is very tiny and this Moon-Saturn square combination is somewhat concerning. Also if my question really is as ambiguous as I suspect, it might also mean that I win the lottery but get a number that doesn't allow me to get a green card. What do you think? Re: Will I win a green card in the DV-2025 lottery? 2 by Calli its really a yes/no if we dont overcomplicate the issue. and its enough to get a reply. which is no. you will not win the chance. moon is exalted in taurus in 8th, so you want what they have. However your asc is libra ruled by venus in detriment im scorpio. Thats a definite no. and the final outcome is ruled by saturn in pisces dispositing to retrograde jupiter in 7th. no again. and mercury reteograde,…again…no. Quote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:39 am

If you don't mind, I have several questions. First off, in your opinion is the fact that the ascendant ruler is in its detriment enough to answer as "no"? Secondly, what about Saturn tells you that it's a no again? Per my interpretation, the Moon's next aspect is with Saturn, and that's a significant aspect in the context of the question, do you not think it's relevant? And thirdly, what's the role of Mercury here? Quote Mon Mar 25, 2024 2:31 pm
Re: Will I win a green card in the DV-2025 lottery? 4 by Saturnello Hi it looks like you will not get the green card. to me the visa/green card is the 2nd (concession, permit) from the 10th (Government) from the 9th (foreign country), this brings to the 7th, Aries, ruled by Mars you are Venus , in detriment in the 2nd, disposed by Mars, which means that you are presently totally involved with your mind in the visa/green card problem, but at the same time you are powerless as the outcome is completely out of your control. In addition the ancients used to explain the detriment debility saying that it is like for a person being in a foreign country without friends and means to support himself and depending for all his needs on others, all the above reflects quite well the question and confirms that the chart can be read. There are no direct or indirect applying aspects between Mars and Venus/ Moon (your secondary significator) and this is a "no" and I don't see in the chart any positive sign, not even one, able to change the negative answer. As a final point to be considered, the ruler of the 4th house, the end of things, is an infortune, peregrine Saturn, aspecting only weak planets (retrograde and peregrine Jupiter, a cadent and peregrine Sun, a peregrine Moon in Gemini in the 8th house) all this it looks again as a no or at least as a very long delay. Re: Will I win a green card in the DV-2025 lottery? 5 by Ouranos Enufisenuf, Let me try to simplify my understanding of your question and correct me if I am wrong. The DV-2025 lottery, better known as the Green Card Lottery or the Visa Lottery, the Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program allows foreigners to register for a chance to apply for a U.S. immigrant visa. U.S. immigration law and regulations require that every DV entrant must have at least a high school education or its equivalent or have two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience. The DV lottery will make up to 55,000 green cards worldwide available in the 2025 fiscal year, through a random computer-based selection process to natives of certain countries that have historically low rates of immigration to the United States. Entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2025. Results for the DV-2025 program will be posted on May 4, 2024. You must use the entrant status check directly with the U.S. Department of State to check if you won. Chances are less than 1% globally. --------------- Moon (co-ruler) in 8th last opposition to VE L1 in 2nd The upfront cost to enter the lottery = $330 US There's no pathway if you have no money. If you win it'll cost you around $1000 to get the green card (around $800 even if you are refused), plus relocation costs, plus a cushion to settle, and you have to have a plan for surviving without any government assistance. And that could be an issue as both significators MO and VE in opposition Fixed and Succedent. One plus not listed in your chart is Fortuna at 27 Taurus. So in sequence, we get the Moon last opp VE next conjunct Fortuna and next sextile MC. On May 4, 2024 transiting Mercury L9 will be on the cusp of your 7th House. You will receive a communication from abroad. Transiting Venus (You) at 6 Taurus will be conjunct natal Jupiter in 7 and L3 suggesting a happy communication. Transiting Jupiter at 25 Taurus will be conjunct your natal Moon (co-ruler), Fortuna sextiling natal MC. It all looks positive but again the opposition Moon/Venus, making a living by yourself might be an issue in the final outcome of your question. Best to you, Ouranos Blessings! Hope to be wrong Saturnello Thank you for your input! You're probably right that the result will be negative, the probability of winning is negligible anyway so I assume you have to have a very clearly positive combination of signs, planets and aspects to assume a "yes" However, I can't help but wonder why you use the 9th -> 10th -> 2nd houses chart rotation. The use of the 10th house surely makes sense but why not use the actual 10th house? If I were to ask some question that involved my country and then another one, then sure, but here my country shouldn't be relevant, right? The only "player" is the US government. And then your use of the 2nd house is interesting to me. Here I may just be less knowledgeable than you but I don't think I've heard it being used that way, I've only ever used it to signify money, personal belongings etc. If you want to interpret the question from the documentation side, wouldn't the 3rd house be a better fit? As far as I know, it's the go-to house when dealing with horaries about documents, visas etc. I'm not disagreeing with your final answer but some clarification would be very helpful Quote Tue Mar 26, 2024 3:11 pm

Best to you, Ouranos Wow, I'm surprised that someone actually predicts me winning it! Haha. Thank you, Ouranos, your post gives me hope. There's only a bit over a month left before the results are announced and I will update you and everybody else. Your method of interpretation is very unique though, I have to say. I haven't seen anyone else who employed transits in the context of horary charts. If you are correct, I will surely try this method in my future horaries I also understand that while you think the answer to my question is positive, I may have to deal with plenty of monetary problems in the future. That does sound very possible. However, the only thing I'm a bit confused about is the upfront cost to enter the lottery. Perhaps I misunderstood you, but the participation in the lottery is free i.e. I didn't pay anything to enter it. As an aside, I want to mention that I have a relative in the US who is very supportive of me and who should help me with the accommodation and with the costs of preparing all the documents, buying tickets etc. I guess there's a possibility that they won't help me much after all, lol... I haven't seen anyone else who employed transits in the context of horary charts. Some horary practitioners more skilled than me are using this method as a timing technique. However, the only thing I'm a bit confused about is the upfront cost to enter the lottery. Perhaps I misunderstood you, but the participation in the lottery is free i.e. I didn't pay anything to enter it. Sorry if I misunderstood the process. I grabbed the information on the Internet. I want to mention that I have a relative in the US who is very supportive of me and who should help me with the accommodation and with the costs of preparing all the documents, buying tickets etc. I guess there's a possibility that they won't help me much after all, lol... That makes sense in the context of your chart and the transits early May. Jupiter (ruling your 3rd) going over your Moon and Fortuna (You) in the 8th. One thing I did not mention is the South Node on your ASC which usually damages the question. But the transits of VE and JU being positive early May seems to be on your side. Wishing you all the best, Ouranos Blessings! Quote Tue Mar 26, 2024 4:43 pm
