Direction

In his Journal, April 16, 1957, Alexandre Volguine writes...
"The defect of most astrologers (which was also mine for a long time, of course) is to learn bookish Astrology and to have preconceived ideas about the influence of planets and signs (correct ideas certainly, but too narrow and too rigid); however, history and geography in the light of the corresponding chart quickly corrects this defect. We always see horoscopic factors acting differently than we expected.
It is the study of historical themes that made me understand many things that we do not find in our literature, starting with the simplest such as for example, the exact meaning of the term - direction - meaning which is almost that of: directive, that is to say something that gives the general line, but not a determined fact (a directive is not a precise instruction, nor a meticulous order; it only indicates the meaning of the movement).
By replacing in Graham Greene's sentence the word destiny by direction...
"Destiny provides us with the canvas of our existence. It's up to us to choose the design and the colors", we are no longer surprised that there are directions which do not correspond to any external event.

We sometimes forget that about 1/3 of our life (when we sleep) planets keep transiting our chart and we are at work at another level of our being. For example, Jupiter's spirit, responsible for the planet's baleful influences is Hismael. Hismael is a diurnal jovian Planetary daemon corresponding to the geomantic figures Acquisito and Laetitia, and rules over the angels Advachiel and Amnixiel. When paired with Kedemel, the pair corresponds to the geomantic figure Caput Draconis (North Node). He is friends with the other Planetary daemons except for Barzabel (a nocturnal martian planetary daemon corresponding to the constellation Aries). When paired with Kedemel, the pair corresponds to the geomantic figure Cauda Draconis (South Node).
Saturn directions or transits change the structures of our life.
Mars directions or transits can leave us with scars.
Jupiter forces us to change our beliefs.
But all of these can happen at different levels of our being. While we are visiting other worlds.
Blessings!

Thanks Ouranos. Here's a story from another tradition, but relevant along the lines here (I think):

Temple Master Ryosui from the Jushu district became a disciple of Master Mayoku.

When Master Mayoku saw the Temple Master coming, he picked up a rake and started to rake up the grass. The Temple Master approached Master Mayoko as he was raking. Master Mayoku purposely avoided looking at the Temple Master, and returned immediately to his own room and closed the door.

The next day, the Temple Master went to the Master’s room again. Master Mayoku closed the door again.
In the end, the Temple Master knocked on the door:
Master Mayoku asked: Who is there?
The Temple Master said: Ryosui.
When he called his own name, he suddenly attained the truth. Then he said: My Master did not deceive me. If I, Ryosui, hadn’t come to prostrate in front of you, I would have wasted my whole life being largely deceived by sutras and commentaries.

On returning to his own temple, he preached in the Lecture Hall: What you monks know, I, Ryosui, know in general terms. What I, Ryosui, know is unknown to you.

In the end, he stopped preaching and said goodbye to his disciples.

On the night of my second return to Jupiter, I had a dream. It's a pity that I didn't write down the time of waking up from the dream.

I stood with Moses on a ladder on which we walked together up to heaven. At the top, Jesus received me and led me to the boss, whom I was not allowed to look at. He reprimanded me, whereupon I woke up.

I'd opine, that he was right in reprimanding you, Jakob - if not for anything else but believing that you shouldn't look. ;)

"To be free from all egoistic motive, careful of truth in speech and action, void of self-will and self-assertion, watchful in all things, is the condition for being a flawless servant."

"There is nothing mind can do that cannot be better done in the mind's immobility and thought-free stillness. When mind is still, then truth gets the chance to be heard in the purity of the silence."

They say whoever wanders in their dreams is one who has been reincarnated. Dreams are more realistic than reality, and reality is dreams in more intense form. Poetry is the short dream dreamed between realities, which are also dreams.

The role of art is to change the world through metaphors. But some metaphors, while revealing certain meanings, can obscure others at the same time. This is how art can be ephemeral but eternal at the same time.

Like Job, I saw it and felt treated unfairly.

Based on what I can gather from the content of some of your posts, it seems you like to read, Jakob. Have you ever read C.G. Jung's book Answer to Job? If not, you might enjoy it. By no means am I a Jungian, so please don't take this as me pushing that perspective - but I do respect his work and think this book is as worthwhile a read as any of his other stuff.

I read an essay, speech from Jung that he held in 1919/21, were he described very clearly what will happen in Germany some years later. Jung was a genius.
