I got two offsets of sallow thorn. This plant is diecious. So I wanted to know if both are male, female or if one is male and one is female. I errected a horary and now the big question which I should have considered before:

Hello Georgius - I would look at Mars, since it lords all prickly plants, including thorn. The 4th house does lord the things that grow on your property as well, but Mars might stand out as a significator. Would you mind sharing the chart? Is Mars in Taurus or Gemini, I wonder? Gemini would make more sense for 2 trees.

I thought of the 4th house too and delineated Mars (L4) and Venus (Co-L4) as the significators for the two plants. Matches the question well. Mars in a female sign, Venus in a male: I have two plants of both sexes. It will take one or two years to confirm this judgement.

How interesting that the 4th house is also lorded by Mars! Mars is in a feminine sign, so at least one should be feminine. There are masculine indicators though - masculine sign rising, Moon on the ascendant in the masculine sign and applying to Mercury next in a masculine sign. I find it concerning that it applies to the 7th lord in the 8th. There could be pests that hurt one of them? Perhaps a male one could be at risk? The Moon separates from a square to Saturn and gives that light to Mercury as well. Maybe a neighbor has a pest of concern.

What you are saying is very interesting, Tannit3333! Yes, one plant shrivels from the time on when I got it in the same plant pot togehther with the other one. I noticed that the vulnerable one needs more water. (Sallow thorn needs not much water.) After pouring it errects. I could not find any pest. Maybe it suffers from too few roots. I observed it for about one week and two days ago I planted them outdoors. Now the weaker one still droops. Yesterday I tried to strengthen it as I tweaked the surroundings.

I just found it recovering! Looks good. That’s 5 1/2 days after the horary.
