Dear all,
on a web page devoted to planetary hours (https://www.astronor.com/hours.htm) I read:

From old, the planets - often termed angles, were said to hold office during those periods when they either were lord of the day or lord the planetary hour.

Therefore in ancient times the term 'planet' was replaced by 'angle'? Did I understand this correctly?

I don't know what the author meant to say, but no, planets were never called angles. They were often called simply stars ('planet' means 'wanderer' or wandering star, contrasted with the fixed stars), but 'angle' translates a wholly different word and concept (kentron, which originally meant a pointed stick or peg).

Maybe it was just a typo, and he really meant to write "angels", not "angles". Weren't the 7 traditional planets associated with archangels and angels in the past?
