the topic of panama has come up in the last few days, along with greenland too and canada... all the talk has originated by the main circus act, otherwise known as mr maga - trump... personally i think it's a distraction - look over here, while i do this over here, but i suppose we will have to wait and see how this plays out...

i read a good overview on panama which has as it's inception date nov 3rd, 1903 panama city, panama for 6pm... the article is from 8-9 years ago..

below is the chart for panama in sidereal zodiac..
it's an interesting chart... saturn, the malefic of the opposite sect is high in the chart, rules the midheaven and 11th whole sign houses and is in a wide square to the sun, ruler of the 5th.. it sounds as though panama was mostly set up as a tax haven, but has some significance due the shipping channel for the navigation of resources - consumer goods, and all else... perhaps mars in the whole sign 9th reflects some of the international importance of all this and as ruler of the ascendant, it would have some say over this too... mars is in a wide square with venus - ruler of the 2nd and 7th houses... moon is further back in the 12th house area of the chart, and rules the 4th - perhaps indicative of some of it's history as being a part of columbia and being taken away from it too, along the course of history... moon is in a wide opposition to mercury, ruler of the 3/6 houses..

it's a splash chart, spread around well, with a sun as part of a grand trine with the speculative planets jupiter and neptune... there are a few wide squares off the planets in this grand trine - already mentioned sun to saturn square, neptune opp mars, neptune square nodes and jupiter wide square with pluto.. no specific midpoints jump out at me..

the solar return for this year, beginning in nov 2024 stand out with uranus on the ascendant... the chart for this is shown below..
again, the malefic of the opposite sect is high in the chart in its own ( day ) sign aquarius... the chart seems very charged with uranus rising, opp mercury... venus and moon are in poor celestial shape - which is sort of reflected in the natal chart as well.. the mars/pluto opposition in the 3/9th houses is interesting here from an international standpoint and this opposition in the solar return directly square onto the natal mercury position, which again involves the 3rd house, but also the 6th... although i think of the idea of navigation, especially long distance navigation as a 9th house type activity, perhaps it could be seen in some other way astrologically.. certainly the natal position of mars and uranus in the sign sag have some bearing as well.. but again - mercury in the natal chart is also in the 6th house area of this chart..

below is a transit chart for today on the outside wheel, with the natal on the inside..
mercury transit is close to mars, the ruler of the ascendant.. perhaps this explains some of the focus on this tiny country.... i may have more to say in the next day or two on all this.. sun transiting the 9th house of the natal chart is also putting an international focus on it.. t saturn is close to a conjunction with natal jupiter - the 9th house ruler as well..
