Uranus-Uranus opp is a 1-2 year transit, so it doesn't generally just show one event, it is more so a time frame in mature adulthood (some would call it middle age). Supposedly, the energies depend a lot on how you handled your earlier Saturn return before it happens. If you learned the lessons and matured and grew as a person, the energies are "easier." If not, it can be a time of surprise, forced changes, loss, upheaval, etc. and is known as the "midlife crisis" transit. As far as a wedding taking place, that's likely less to do with Uranus, although the aspect does look partile, so perhaps significant. It would help to post the chart data. I would look at the relationship charts to want to understand more.

that is/was my brother in law.
I had set these dates because I noticed that my brother-in-law's Uranus opposition was exactly on the wedding day. I often have outstanding events on the exact day of the transit of slow movers. For me, Pluto was transiting exactly conjunct my natal moon when my grandmother, my mother's mother, died. Or Pluto exactly on my ascendant when I was in a car accident, once direct and once Pluto retrograde.
 
On the day of my second Uranus opposition. the decline, I changed my job. The extent to which Uranus opposition is a long-term process is a matter of widespread opinion. I had a lot of professional success during this phase and developed into the second best expert in the world in a rare professional environment, behind a Swede. A few months before the first Uranus opposition I got a raise. I don't have my brother-in-law's birthdate, but I could find out, but I don't think the topic would be that interesting for here. My brother-in-law achieved social and financial advancement by marrying my sister. The interesting thing about his horoscope might be that he didn't know who his father was because his mother took that to her grave. An interesting story because I am knowing now who is father was.

Was the wedding planned in advance or did it happen suddenly? Certainly it can show a time of transition, but it isn't typically associated with marriage, unless it describes the marriage in some way. That's just not an area it's associated with specifically. My guess would be it wasn't the only major planetary players for that time frame. It would likely show a relationship where a complete change occurs in their life and where freedom might become a focal point somehow, which isn't usually the case in a marriage.

I do agree with you that the outer planets can show periods that are significant but I would argue that other significators will be adding to it (it won't be the only thing going on). As in horary, I always say they help describe things further. They are more color and detail to the overall picture.

Keep in mind too that although your brother in law was getting married at that time, he also might have had other areas of his life that had events going on too, such as a major change in a job, etc. Maybe a previous relationship even ended and this signaled newfound freedom. The idea of correlation does not mean causation comes to mind here in general though.

I recently had this opp several times (where it also aspects my natal Sun at 23 Taurus, which opposes Uranus). I found it extremely unremarkable. At most it has been an irritating time where I feel like I'm caught on a hamster wheel. Rebellion and a need for freedom is in my nature already so it just isn't eventful for me. I found it very disappointing because I thought it might show change and opportunity. It has been stagnant. I did wonder about heart issues given the signification and the fact that Uranus is also in my 5th (heart). I have had more cardiovascular issues with my autoimmune disease but nothing significant enough for my doctors to care. Mine occurs within 5 degrees of algol, so I assumed all sorts of surprises could happen. If anything happened it must have been internal because I haven't noticed.

Well, they didn’t marry quick. They married in 1987 but lived together since 1976. They moved in an appartement on April 1, 1976. April 1 was the birthday of our grandpa who died exact 50 years before the day of marriage what we didn’t know at that time. I have to look in which year grandpa was born, maybe 1906. Then it was his 70 th birthday. Gradpa was executed by the nazis.

It would be a little bit complicated to find out Peters birth time (his name was Peter, like our second grandpa) because my sister must be at the office personally and she is disabled and moves in a wheelchair.

But in former times when I did much more astrology than now I thought about my brother-in-law which ascendant he is and I always thought he is a lion. If that is right his DC would be aquarius, a zodiac sign that is ruled by Uranus.

Then it would give sense that his marriage is on the day of the opposition.

If he is ascendant lion than I would guess it is around the degree of my sisters sun. She is lion and the marriage happened when her sun was triggered as the ruler of that time.

Possibly, but this is a study of n=1 and not even a complete one at that without a birth chart. As I said, this isn't an aspect typically associated with marriage. Otherwise, many people would marry in their mid 40s. Most people tend to marry near their Saturn return, actually (which makes sense given the symbology). Also, as I said, for many people it can be uneventful, probably because they already had a Saturn return that set them on the right path. My Uranus-Uranus opp was probably the most uneventful time in my entire life (my Saturn return was a different story).

Yesterday I asked at the office for the document with the time of birth. I will probably get it in the end of the month.
