Job Horary

1
Hello,

Can you please help me interpret this horary chart?

I asked whether I will get the job I am aiming for. In the chart, L1 is Mercury and L10 is Jupiter. There is an applying trine between the two planets, with Jupiter in the L1 house close to the cusp (about 5º). According to Frawley, these are very positive testimonies. However, Mercury is combust, and Jupiter is in its detriment and retrograde. The astrologer I hired told me that I will get the job anyway, with combust Mercury symbolizing my insecurity about how I would perform (which is true). Jupiter in detriment and retrograde indicates that the job may not be ideal (since it's in another region far from home), but it will fit well because Jupiter is in the 1st house.

One thing that caught my attention is the "void of course" Moon, which the astrologer didn’t mention. Does this Moon "invalidate" everything, suggesting that nothing will come of this situation?

Hi, Zaccheus.

The L10 near the ASC with a trine to L1 looks very good, but ...

Besides the VOC Moon which you point out, the chart you posted was done in the 8th planetary hour, which is always the same as the first hour. Feb. 3rd was a Monday, so the Lord of the Hour is the Moon. This is not the same as the L1, nor is it in the same elemental triplicity nor of the same complexion. So I'm afraid the chart also fails on hour agreement.

Thanks, Stargeezer! I had never heard about this planetary hour agreement before. I also noticed that Frawley completely ignores this subject in his Horary Textbook (as far as I know). However, he does mention that a VOC Moon can be problematic. My doubt is whether the chart has enough strong testimonies to overcome this hour agreement and void Moon (as written on page 223 of Horary Textbook). I am very insecure the chart seems too good hahaha

I never read Frawley's Horary Textbook. I read his book "The Real Astrology" and didn't like his arrogant attitude. He seemed like a young man very sure of his own rightness. At that point I decided not to pursue him further. I have heard that he also gets the subject of reception wrong. As a possible antidote to this, here's a very clear explanation of reception by Deb Houlding.

You can read about this in William Lilly’s “Christian Astrology”. Sue Ward writes about it in her horary book and in her collection of essays.

He does. There is a peculiar section on this matter just before chapter 15 in his horary textbook. While I appreciate John Frawley’s books I do not follow him in this point. My experience is that one better respects the conciderations.
