Hi everyone,

In the case of calculating the almuten score of a degree in the chart, say the MC degree.
In such a case one would add in +5 for domicile ruler, +4 for almuten ruler (if any), +3 for triplicity ruler (or rulers if we're using hellenistic), +2 for term and +1 for face.
But another inherent feature of any sign are the detriment (-5) and fall (-4) scores.
Do you include them in your almuten calculation, or do you disregard them for this purpose?

This is also a question, when one calculate a compound almuten for a topic.
Say what Nicola Allsop does with the almuten of pregnancy.

Also, Anthony Louis, if my memory serves me right, uses triplicity scores for house cusps in horary, in order to dissect a topic into three parts.
Say for the MC degree Saturn gets a top score, it would be the first job. Then the second and third essential dignity scores for the MC degree, they would be the second and third jobs, accordingly.

Example:
The MC is in the 11th degree (10'00>11'00) of Scorpio in a day chart; egyptian terms, chaldean decans.
The calculation would be:
+5 Mars (domicile)
+3 Venus (trip)
+2 Venus (term)
+1 Sun (face)
Without including detriment and fall, Venus would co-rule this MC degree, together with Mars.
If we include detriment and fall though, Venus would not co-rule the MC degree, as Venus would get and additional -5.

Would you add the detriment and fall to the almuten calculation in such a case?

I think the post you have in mind has to do with Bonatti's method of using triplicity rulers to choose among several options.

Bonatti considers the entire chart, including the 1st and 7th houses, the Moon, and the Part of Fortune, to come to a judgment.

When considering triplicity rulers as signifiers of an issue, Bonatti evaluates its entire condition, celestial and terrestrial, in his judgment. Thus, he would take into account both dignities and debilities, as well as house placement and aspects.
