what is the nature of my relationship with X?

hello skyscripters!

i am very new to horary and have been studying astrology for the past year and a half.

the question above - is that a valid horary question? as i am kind of fishing for answers, clearly. the chart i cast is for

24 apr 06, 11:37, milwaukee, wi, usa

with a rising degree of 1 le 23.

it amazes me constantly that in horary there are confirmations of sorts that the chart itself provides, such as the querent being signified by a taurus sun (me) is exact sqaure with leo saturn on the asc.

this i feel tells me that it is infact a valid question.

now what signifies X?

X came into my life on a ninth house matter a while back. teacher of sorts. philiosophy. we do not as yet (if ever) have any real personal contact.

so i look into the ninth house, with uranus conjunct venus conjunct moon on the cusp, with ruler jupiter on a easy trine in 4th house scorpio (is it close enough to be on the fifth? - there you go, see why i am fishing?), trining ruler mars in the 12th (what is the implication here?)

so is it favorable to a romantic potentiality with the nice water trine involving jupiter (philosophy, teacher), venus and mars? or the moon having made contact with venus moving on to an upcoming sqaure with a sixth house sag pluto indicative coupled with a 12th house mars, spell trouble?

your kind input will be greatly appreciated.

love,
mira

thanks goca! and that would be right too, it is way too early to speculate on it purely based on a hunch or a feeling...i am planning to move to X's city to resume study (or not?) and hence needed to test the water on this regard...

this is the effect of studying astrology in this flat manner (self study without a proper tutor)...is it not? you pick up certain things along and then miss on some other things that are so basic.

for the purpose of study, will you be able to comment on any of the observations i had made on the chart, purely academically then?

on studying the chart i had, it did occur to me that with the moon VOC (except for the impending square with pluto which we are not considering in traditional, yes?) and about to change signs to aries (where it will be in mutual reception to the taurus sun by exaltation) the matter would not come to clarity until i shifted base myself, changing residences.

thanks for the response.

I took the other person as 7th rather than 9th as you have left relationship undefined for the time being.

Notwithstanding 'too early' Asc and VOC (and also peregrine) Moon which negate the question entirely, the Sun your Sig. is in angular fixed-sign exact square to other person's Saturn sig., so I would say nature of relationship is 'not much to write home about'.

I don't see this as undefined at all. She's asknig if there is a romantic future ahead here. The 9th house associations show up all right as all those planets located there. If the question really was undefined, I'd ask her to clarify what she's asking rather than use the 7th house as a catch all, though in this case it gives us the right significator. I never read where Lilly, Ramsey, Bonatti, Ptolemy or any other traditional source uses the 7th house that way.

So if he is Saturn in detriment in the 1st house and you're the Sun in the 10th, this still looks really bad. You have a super close applying square where the Sun receives the very malefic Saturn into his sign. That's like allowing Saturn to do it's bad stuff in your house. And it being a square makes it that much worse. The sexual and romantic side looks afflicted too as the 5th house ruler Mars is in it's fall and in the 12th house.

The area of friendship looks stronger as the 11th house ruler Venus is dignified by exaltation and is in the 9th house, where she says the friendship started. That teaching is the basis of this friendship is shown by the 9th house ruler Jupiter being located in the 4th house, the foundations of the situation. But the Sun is coming up to oppose Jupiter. Maybe that means that if you proceed on a course of seeing this as a romantic relationship, that will cause a conflct in him as a teacher. But he's also on that same couse too as Saturn is both in your sign and house. Oh boy!

Though the rising sign is very early, the chart is radical and I'd be a little bit cautious about getting involved here.

thanks mark f.

it is a complicated situation of the heart, but when i made the initial move to X's town, i had already made up my mind to keep it purely academic and affectionate, thanks to the horary and on meditating on the topic.

and for two weeks it was fantasitc. i was recieved very warmly and i was very glad i had come and felt good about the impending move for which this was a scouting trip. but then the old intuitive feeling which you also state as

"But he's also on that same couse too as Saturn is both in your sign and house. Oh boy!"

made itself felt. not so much in any actions or even the mildest suggestions at all (we are both too highminded much to our detriment probably) but it is just something that you know somewhere deep. or not. but your observation kinda validates my intuition. i was beginning to have doubts, and life olbiged by pulling me out of the situation in a jiffy.

i guess now the question is whether it would be possible for us to be purely platonic and pursue a course of study, for he is the best in the field as far as i am concerned and i would loathe to miss him out as a mentor and friend.

sigh, it feels like a loose-loose choice whichever way you approach it.

i am wondering what kind of lemonade i could possibly make out of this...

They say that a chart is radical, meaning that's it fit to be read when the planetary hour matches either the ASC ruler, the ruler of the triplicity or is of the same nature (warm and mosit, cold and dry) as the ASC.

Your chart has a planetary hour of the Sun and has Leo on the ASC, which is ruled by the Sun. It's a test to see if the time was right to ask the question. The planetary hour should match the chart in some way.
