Is He Happy?

Since my brother's biopsy came back negative, I can now return to less scary topics. I want to know if my old boyfriend is happy now?
I cast the chart for 7/18/06 at 19:11 Un. Time, from Lockport NY, USA (78w41,43n1o).

Counting from the 5thH (ruled by Jup.), the 7thH is ruled by Venus.
Venus is found in the 29th degree of Gemini in his 4thH, opposed by Pluto r.,in his 10thh. It is separating from a nice sextile with Mars in Leo and will be applying to a sextile to the moon in Taurus. His other significator, the sun is in Cancer in the fifth house, the house of joy. Therefore I am concluding that he is presently very happy with his home and family.

OK, now shoot me down, you experts.

There may be some debate about this, but I would put your ex-boyfriend with the 7th house, not the 5th, as the 7th rules not only 'marriage' but 'divorce', and if you are exes, then you would be considered 'divorced'.

Well, OK, this would still give him the same sigificator of venus, only it's position would be less positive in the 8th house. However, this still leaves the sextiles to Mars and moon, and the sun in the moon's sign. How do you see it as affecting the "yes, he is happy" outcome? Thanks.

Because this is a horary chart you need to look for applying and separating aspects. Your ex in the 8th of sorrow, at a very late degree, indicating that his situation is about to change. Venus will shortly make its ingress into Cancer, and thereby be in mutual reception with the exalted Taurus moon. Venus has already separated from aspects with Mars, and the moon has separated from Venus. This may just show that you are 'an ex', as the aspect happened 'in the past'. The significator of the turned 5th of pleasure, Mercury, is combust and retrograde in the turned 3rd of his thoughts. This may mean he feels less than happy at the moment, or is preoccupied with thoughts. However, Mercury will shortly go direct again, indicating that this, too, will change.

That's my take on it, at least.

Thank you, Archer. The only thing I don't understand is your reference to the "turned 3rd house". Didn't you start out by saying the chart shouldn't be turned, but read from the radical 1st/7th axis?

6
Well, there's always some confusion about this; I personally don't like turning charts but there are occasions when it works better. As you are asking about someone with whom (one assumes) you have little influence or current connection, it makes more sense to do a turned chart, because it reflects *his* perspective and you are asking solely about *him*, from within his position as your ex-boyfriend; if you were still in a relationship with him and asked this question you would use the radix chart as it would reflect his perspectives as per your involvement with him, if you see what I mean, since you are the querent and the question in a radix chart relates to you.

Glad to hear your brother is okay, Moondance. Sometimes it helps to be a little patient and you'll get your answer. Where is that thread, by the way? I can't seem to find it.
