Flight Rulers

1
Can anyone help me out here?
In a flight chart.....my friend is flying to Australia on Saturday.....can you tell me what rules what in the chart?
I know the Asc would rule the 'plane' in this instance. The only info I have is from Barbara Watters (Judgement of Events)
Asc ruling plane, ship, etc..
Moon ruling passengers
Sun ruling pilot
4th ruling point of departure
6th ruling the crew
7th ruling ports of call, adventures on the way
10th ruling destination

Can you tell me if these rules still hold true today?
And what if (as in the case of chart I've cast for this particular flight) the Moon rules both the Asc and passengers?

Would be grateful for any help here.

Hi Gina
And what if (as in the case of chart I've cast for this particular flight) the Moon rules both the Asc and passengers?
That?s fine, the Moon tends to be a co-significator for the ascendant and its ruler anyway, so these both signify the ?ship? and its passengers.

These significations have come down from tradition and are usually based on Lilly?s associations in shipping charts (although they are obviously much older than Lilly's text of course). The main disagreements I would have with this, is that I wouldn?t see the 4th house as signifying the point of departure (that?s usually the ascendant), or the 10th for the destination (that?s usually the 7th). Lots of astrologer?s continue to use Lilly?s rules for travel and successfully apply them to modern equivalents like air travel. If you go to the link below you can see the main aphorisms for yourself, plus a lot of other important points that are worth giving attention to.

Thanks Deb....I don't know how I missed that. Considering I've rummaged around Skyscript so often in the past, it's amazing how there always seems to be an article I haven't come across before.

I'll have another look at chart bearing these rulings in mind.
What looked interesting to me was the fact that the South Node is 24 Virgo - same degree as March 14th Lunar eclipse this year.

Will try and work through chart as best I can and then I'd like to put it forward for the more experienced people out there to let me know if I'm going in the right direction. :?

Thanks again Deb,
Gina
