Hi guys,

A friend of mine has missed her period. She did two pregnancy tests two weeks after it was due. Both were negative. Her period has still not arrived and she has been told by a nurse not to worry as it's probably stress-related. However, normally she has no trouble with her periods. So she asked, "If I'm not pregnant, what's wrong?"

We see Lord 1 is the Sun at 00 Scorpio 22. Lord 5 is Mars, cazami at 00 Scorpio 09.

Could this show that yes, she is pregnant, but because Lord 5 is conjunct the Sun, and therefore the light of Mars cannot be seen, she cannot see it? i.e. the tests were negative.

I think that fertile Jupiter on the 5th cusp is further testimony for a yes. The Moon in Scorpio is ruled by Lord 5 as well as being in the Via Combusta, showing her worries about the issue and also her general "fearful" state of mind.

The next question is, when will she be able to find out for definite? The Sun separates from Mars quite slowly, and so Mars will remain combust for some time. I've forgotten the distance from the Sun which is considered combustion. I think it's about 7 degrees? Could I use this distance to give a time for her to test again, when the Sun has separated far enough from Mars for his light to be seen?

I would say it's likely she *is* pregnant; the moon is in a fertile water sign and Mars H5 ruler being cazimi *and* this being her significator would very much strengthen this argument. I'm wondering about Neptune in H7 in separating square to the Sun/Moon aspects; something foggy about it? AND Mercury in the 5th has just separated from Saturn L6 in H2: false negatives in the test?

As I said, only a thruppenny's worth...

Oh and I'd best add I think you're right about the significators having to separate enough for the answer to 'be seen'; it seems both logical and likely.
