Further query about prohibition/combustion 1 by Gunhilde Hi everyone, OK, this one has me really stumped although I think it ought to be obvious. I've been reading Pete's recent thread about perfection and prohibition/frustration with great interest, hoping to glean something that will help shed light on a chart I've done. I have trouble doing charts for those close to me as I feel I may not be seeing things clearly. Can anyone help? The question is the usual relationship + 3rd house query, 'If I contact X will he respond (favourably)?', asked 11 October 2006 at 17:50 hrs 0e02 52n11, asked about someone she's had her eye on for some time. Chart looks good: Mars hours, Aries rises, Gemini moon (Lord of H5 of luurve) in H3 of communication carries separated trine from L7 (Venus in Libra, combust) directly to applying trine to L1 Mars (also combust) in H7. I will ignore the combustion for the time being, although I will take it into consideration later. Because of the translation between Venus, Moon, and Mars from relevant houses, I would tend to say 'yes' as Venus also applies to Mars by conjunction, but then reading the perfection and prohibition thread I started wondering if, because the Sun perfects its aspect to Mars before Venus can get there, this indicates that 'someone else' gets there first to stop the budding romance. Sun rules H6 and Saturn L11 is there : a workmate/friend? L3 Mercury is also in the 7th, not aspected by significators except Jupiter, to which it applies by conjunction, angular in a fixed sign. Slow developments, perhaps... So I guess my question is about 'yes versus no': the Moon gets to the significators and translates light from one to another first as the fastest of the planets, in a favourable aspect, but does the frustration or prohibition by the Sun to L7 Venus have any influence on the final outcome? As I said, I can't seem to 'do' dear ones' charts without some help! Thanks a lot for any input to alleviate my ignorance... Quote Wed Oct 25, 2006 2:24 pm
2 by Deb I don?t get the data to match your description of the chart. But over and above the question of whether the Sun is prohibiting or frustrating the application, it is making the significator of both the querent and quesited combust, so for that reason alone I would expect some need for caution. 3 by Gunhilde Hmm, I used Astrodienst and Regiomontanus houses; Universal time would be 16:50 so I'm not sure what's happening with that. So you're saying that the combustion outweighs the other favourable aspects? I know there was some discussion on one of the other threads about whether combustion affects a dignified planet (like Venus L7 angular and in its own sign in this chart) as much as it otherwise would but I wasn't sure what, if any, agreement was reached. L1 Mars is not in good shape, being both in detriment and combust, but I figured this was a good reflection of the querent's insecurity regarding 'taking action' and making contact (she is hopeful, but doubtful of a good outcome, if you see what I mean). Am I that far off? Thanks! Quote Wed Oct 25, 2006 5:05 pm
