aspect vs reception question 1 by Gunhilde This may be answered somewhere else, I don't know... the two significators, Saturn and the Sun, have separated from their trine; the Sun at 29 degrees Sag is about to enter mutual reception with Saturn. How does this mitigate, in astrological symbolism? One situation has ended (separation) but another one which is amenable to both parties, is about to develop? Thanks for any ideas on this. 2 by Draco I think it might depend a lot on what is being asked, and the data of the horary would help, so that it can be considered in context. Quote Thu Dec 21, 2006 1:04 pm
3 by Deb It all depends on what you are looking for in regard to those significators, but in the way that I understand this, reception helps to describe the nature of the relationship, aspectual contact represents the opportunity. If the planets are separating, then the ideal moment has passed and the impetus for the connection is weakening and will continue to dissipate as the planets separate. With the Sun about to enter a new sign ? indicating a major change of circumstance ? I?d say the theme of separation is quite strong. The mutual reception will help in any situation where these two people need to deal with each other, but I wouldn?t judge a developing relationship without some kind of aspectual support (ie, from the Moon or something like collection taking place). 5 by Deb Thanks for the sentiment, although I feel as if I live in this forum sometimes I?m usually lurking around, but like everyone else I have periods when I have more time for comment than others. And sometimes it?s just nice to read ? Quote Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:01 pm

7 by Gunhilde No, it wasn't a developing relationship, but one that had come to a close. Querent was asking about quesited's mindset. Answer seems pretty clear! Quote Thu Dec 21, 2006 7:26 pm
8 by Gunhilde Actually, perhaps I should just check that I'm correct: separating aspect is clear enough an answer, but am I to infer that the mutual reception means just that: that the querent and quesited will remain 'receptive' to one another, despite the separation...? No other collection or translation in the chart, just the impending reception between A and B. Thanks! AG Quote Thu Dec 21, 2006 10:39 pm
9 by Virgolass I just did a chart that has this issue. Here's the background...a few years ago I met someone really special. We were almost an item, but alas...I was about to accept a commission as an officer, and he was an enlisted sailor. So of course dating was a no no, fraternization is against the rules. He kept in touch, and made it very clear that he felt very strongly about me, but again, no dating because of our positions. We fell out of touch, and again he came back, this time to tell me that he's getting out of the navy for good. I've always felt a sort of pull to this man, but the timing was just all wrong. So I asked "Is he the one" at 7:50 pm Dec 21 in Washington DC. Leo significator w. Sun in Capricorn in the fifth. He's aquarius, retrograde in leo. So I'm a bit stronger than he is, and he's obviously still stuckon me, but the trine is a seperating one...lost opportunity? I don't know. But then there's that mutual reception you've been talking about. Interestingly, if I were to use the sixth house (suboordinates) for him, it's still saturn. So I'm not sure how to read this other than a lost opportunity. Quote Fri Dec 22, 2006 12:59 am
a different perspective 10 by pankajdubey According to my calculations. Sun in Capricorn is applying to a Trine of The Part of Marriage in early virgo , and its lord -Mercury is going to trine the retrograde Saturn in the ascendant. By the time mercury moves into capricorn to conjunct Sun- you could be discussing marriage. Did he reconnect close to Dec 16-17 ? Such different interpretations.LOL Good Luck Quote Sun Dec 24, 2006 11:35 am
11 by Virgolass hmmm...interesting. I doubt it though. We'd be wrong on a lot of levels. But yes, he called to congratulate me on my graduation from training, and to ask for some legal advice for a friend. Quote Mon Dec 25, 2006 3:57 pm
