Should I start looking for a job, or is better to wait?

First let me give a brief of the querent situation and the reasons why he decided to make the question.
For years this man has been making his living working at home, but at least two years ago things began to deteriorate rapidly; last year was so discouraging that, besides the financial problems, his relation with other family members worsened at a very fast pace.
What is interesting is that he believes, as a matter of fact he has a huge faith, that everything will be more than fine in the very near future and that he just have to wait doing nothing at all. Obviously his attitude is making the situation at home intolerable.

The question was made on February 4th 2007 at 10:27 pm in USA 94W34 39N08

The querent is represented by exalted Venus, located in the 5th in Pisces, which is received by dignified Jupiter in Sagittarius on the cusp of the 3rd. At the same time, these two planets have a square aspect between them, making the reception more strong and I would say favorable. It also has a sextile aspect with exalted Mars in Capricorn on the cusp of the 4th, a partile conjunction with the part of fortune and a conjunction with the North Node. It is important to note that, in all cases, the aspects are applying. Venus is also ruling the 8th, indicating the anguish that this situation is putting on him.
So far things seem clear but lets see what the Moon, ruler of the MC, is telling us. It is on the cusp of the 12th and is separating from a conjunction with the South Node, supporting the previous information.
Now here comes the big question, the issue that can make everything unclear, the Moon is Void of course.

Thank you for your comments.

I would like to add some comments about this chart.

Neptune conjuncting the 5th could indicate that the querent is deceiving himself by thinking that everything will end well and that his faith is only an illusion; to confirm this, the ruler of that house is Saturn in retrograde who is opposing it, meaning that seriousness and return to reality is on its way. On the other hand, besides Neptune in Aquarius, there are three other planets in the 5th plus the North Node and the Part of Fortune, all of them in Pisces received by a strong dignified Jupiter in Sagittarius that is aspecting them by square, an arrangement that I think is not only favorable, but very encouraging.
Apparently we have two contradictory readings concerning the 5th, but maybe not, because the change of sign from Aquarius to Pisces could indicate that the house is giving information of two different issues, one for each sign.
If we return to The Moon, we can see that the VOC period will be long and when it is over she will have two different aspects at the same time, a square with a dignified Mars, which is sextile to the Pisces configuration and a sextile with Jupiter ruler of that sign.
There is more, the querent is willing to relocate, and Mercury the messenger, ruler of the 12th of hidden things and of the 9th of journeys, received by Jupiter on the 3rd of messages, is applying the querent represented by Venus.

Is there more? Yes, lets talk a little about the family. The wife represented by Mars exalted in Saturn (the son) is on the cusp of the 4th, indicating her disposition, supported by the son, to be in charge and act boldly in family matters.
How about the son? Well, Saturn is in retrograde, indicating that he is returning to a past situation moving toward a perfect opposition to the Sun, ruler of the 7th; as you can see, these planets are in mutual reception and both of them are moving to perfect the aspect. The son broke with his girlfriend a few months ago and three or four weeks ago they started to see each other again.

At this point, I think that the querent is right about how the matter will end, but not about when. What would be a good advice?

Thank you for your comments.

I think more credence needs to be given the Neptune.

It would hurt this young man at all to put out a few resumes and let his family feel a bit more secure and if in the mean time things improve in his home business, great, but he'll have reduced the stress level at home a great deal by putting out a little effort. He might even find something he likes to do outside the home in the meantime. Wont hurt him, will help home atmosphere.

I took a quick look at your chart.

While it's true that the querent is signified by Venus in exaltation and joy, Saturn also has a great deal of dignity in the ASC. Saturn, while he may symbolize the querent's son, may be a co-significator of the querent himself because along with Venus, Saturn has equal dignity at 13 Libra (+5).

So I looked at this slightly differently. Saturn is in detriment, peregrine and retrograde, this man is in trouble it doesn't get much worse. Venus in exaltation seems to indicate the man may be thinking of himself only, of his own benefit. Saturn is opposed to the house he rules, this is also bad for it means that Saturn's interests are in conflict with what he has actual control over. In addition Neptune on the 5House cusp shows that there is blindness here in regard to the issues that Saturn rules and where Venus resides. Venus feels great in the 5H, but this overshadowed by Neptune: he does not see his situation clearly at all. Your querent may be rather lazy too. :(

The Moon is void, the querent likely already knows that he should apply for a job. The Moon has opposed every point of luck in the chart including her ruler Mercury, IMO this means the opportunity to sit back came and went.

But what also caught my eye is that Mercury rules the 9H of skills and knowledge. Mercury is in detriment and fall, and will soon go retrograde: this guy has few of the skills required to pull off his grand plan. Moreover, Mercury rules the 12H of self-undoing and imprisonment and the Moon is there calling attention to 12H issues: there's some serious misguided thought here.

You place alot of hope on Jupiter. Jupiter has lots of essential dignity but is cadent. Thus the good luck that Jupiter is expected to bring to all those planets and points in Pisces will be much less than expected. Cadency means Jupiter will have trouble showing all his power. Venus has got to get through a conjunction with Uranus before she meets the luck of her ruler, there's a problem on the way, some sort of shake up.

It seems to me that this guy needs to get up off the sofa and apply for job quick. :?

I don't mean to sound harsh but that's what I see. :???:

Thank you for your comments, they are well pointed and substantiated, and almost all of them describe very well one of the issues that the chart gives.
Lets not forget that the Moon is also the significator of the profession and, while separating before going VOC, it is still in conjunction with the South Node, squaring Jupiter and, as you said, very bad placed in the 12th. To me this means that the chances to get a job at this time are not good.

Relating Jupiter location, a planet in the 3rd house shows dignity not debility, maybe a minor one but still a dignity; what this location is telling us is not a diminishing in the strength of the planet but a delay in its influence.
Concerning Uranus position and aspects, why do we have to expect a sudden bad shake up instead of a sudden good one?
Your comments represent what is in the past and the present, but at the same time the chart is telling us (Viz. Venus conjuncting the part of fortune) that good times are almost here.

Dealing with the querent is not as easy as telling him do not be lazy, get up off the sofa and apply for a job. In fact, I think that the chart confirms most of what he thinks and perceives. Of course I have to tell him what positive and negative issues I see. My hope is that I am helping him to make a good decision.

I appreciate very much your interest in this chart.

Hi Albo,
I think it might help me to more clearly define the horary question. Perhaps I misunderstood. :o

I thought the querent was asking whether to continue in his current state, that is to work from home where things are deteriorating rapidly. Or to apply for some other sort of job to tide him over. It seems to me that the MC ruler Moon VOC with so many separating aspects is to my mind declaring that the current state, that is the state of working from home, is not likely to bring any further development of his career aspirations. I'm not sure that the chart is telling the querent what do to so much as what's not working. I would ask you to notice further that this 12H Moon is disposited by an extremely weak Mercury, his thoughts and skills are not inline with what's currently possible in his career, he is being undermined by this influence somehow.

You're right about Jupiter's situation of the 3house being a minor dignity instead of debility. Yet it's still cadent and this cadency is what's charging up the POF and the NNode. Your querent's "huge faith, that everything will be more than fine," faith which I think is symbolized by that 3House Jupiter, may be a little exaggerated=Venus in her own exaltation applying square Jupiter.

Moreover, I didn't say that Uranus would be a bad event, I just said a shake-up of some sort. :P It could be positive, it's disposited by Jupiter who has loads of essential dignity. Often, however, in my experience the outer planets in horary act as a sort of malefic fixed star influence.

I remain unconvinced that good times are almost here because there are no good aspects between Venus and the Moon, querent and quesited. Moreover the 12H Moon is decreasing in light and void. That's not a positive indicator of a happy outcome in my opinion. Not unless the querent is interested in working in a hospital. :)

It's really hard to give difficult news to someone who asks for advice. My comments about telling him to get off the sofa were more a cheeky reply to you, not meant for your client. I apologize for my glibness. The 12H Moon indicates that this is a difficult situation, requiring a hard look at the problems. Perhaps you might ask the querent what if any plans he has made in case his work at home situation completely implodes. Even if those plans are immature there may be indication of them in the chart as a way out for him and you would be well-positioned to use that to guide you in your discussion. :)

I would like to present a summary of this chart and sustain my belief that everything will start getting well soon.

The question is about what option is better between the following two: start looking for a job (10th house), or remain at home and relax (5th house?). My first impression when I saw the chart, based on the VOC Moon ruler of the 10th and a weak and retrograde Saturn ruler of the 5th, was that it would not give accurate information; the idea vanished when I realized that among other things the son and wife were very well represented, indicating that the chart was indeed giving value data.
Of course it was difficult to accept that the two options looked so bad, but further analysis persuaded me that the 5th was showing two different issues, one represented by Aquarius and the other by Pisces. Aquarius was indicating the past and present, while Pisces was showing the near and the not so near future.

Lets talk about the near future, which is represented by the partile conjunction of Venus and the Part of Fortune. Venus is strong and feels wonderful in the 5th; the POF is also strong and is aspecting two of its three significators. What can this mean? Well, maybe that the home business will improve, making things much better at home.
Now lets talk about the not so near future, several months ahead, represented by the upcoming aspects of the Moon with Mars and Jupiter, and the applying conjunction of Mercury with Venus, POF, Uranus and North Node. To me it represents the fulfillment of the querent?s desire to relocate.

More information to sustain these asseverations:

Solar Return
POF has a partile conjunction with the natal Moon
Solar Return Moon in Cancer is located in the 5th
Part of Spirit has a partile conjunction with Regulus in the 7th
Jupiter is in trine with the POF
Jupiter in its own sign is the most elevated planet

Some Primary Directions through the year
MC D conjunct Uranus? Antiscia
AC D conjunct Spica?s Antiscia
Sun sextile Jupiter
Moon trine North Node
Moon trine POF

I would like to finish by telling that the querent?s confidence and lack of action, against the advice of family and friends, has to do with a huge trust that God and the universe are giving human beings constant clues of what to do, how to do it and when. He believes in Jung?s collective unconscious and the way to retrieve valuable information through dreams, meditation, creative imagination and more.

To me the chart indicates that he is right and that the best thing to do is wait.

Of course I know that I can be wrong, so your comments are very welcome, because at the end, I do not want to be right; I want to get it right.

Thank you.
