So, to fill my free time, I'd like to audition for a local theater production of the Secret Garden. I did this play last year and had a wonderful time playing the role of Martha, a sassy scullery maid. I know I could do the role again, and would have fun with it, but I also wouldn't mind being Lilly, the soprano ingenue role. Unfortunately the roles are so different in character and voice range I should really settle on one, or beg to do two different auditions.

So I asked "which role should I audition as?"
With leo as an ascendant for an acting chart, I was rather pleased. The fifth house represents plays and performances, and jupiter, the ruler of the fifth house is dignified by sign, showing that this could be a very good thing...also, it's a musical and with venus that high in the chart and in taurus (a combination known for good vocals), more good signs!

But which role?

Well, lilly is a ghost so I think either the eighth or the twelfth. If it's the twelfth the moon rules the twelfth and makes it's next aspect by conjuncting the sun...a sign I could get the role? And BOTH are in the eighth house.

HOWEVER, I'd use the sixth house for Martha the servant, and it's significator saturn is in the first house, in retrograde in an applying trine to the ruler of the fifth suggesting that a reprisal of that role may be coming.

Hmmm...so basically, they both look good.

How would any of you read this?

I haven't been ignoring you; rather, I've been stumped as to how one would answer a question like this. You'd have to figure out which significator represented which part, beforehand, I'd think.

I don't like the look of that New Moon. New Moons aren't good for most horaries, but with this one I have no idea!

Well I would think that Martha would be a 6th house persona, being a servant and Lilly being a mother, would be 10? since her significance in the play is that she's the mother, if I'm not mistaken? Not mentioned a whole lot except by absense if I'm not mistaken in the book?

and Saturn significator of 6th in the first it seems to me that the role of martha is interested in you, but you are interested in Lilly, (not a subtle fruedian, or would that be lillian?, slip is it? ) The sun is about to be overshadowed by the moon in this chart, so it may be that you may have to sublimate your desire at first, but sun is also about to change signs into his sign of exaltation, so in the end you will end up with something that makes you shine.

I suggest you go with the auditioning for both, but make certain you audition for Lilly first, so they dont pigeon hole you.

Update:

The audition was last night,

as suggested I auditioned for both parts and got callbacks for both. The music director seemed to like me for lilly, but the director seemed to like me for Martha.

I guess I'll know tuesday!
