I have observed a rather disturbing phenomenon in three charts that warrant a close inspection. In all 3 charts (Ascendant in Cancer), Saturn is in the tenth house (most elevated) in Aries and Mars (Lord of the tenth house) is in the first house in Cancer.

Now, all three have very good career and they were financially free (or close enough) when they were very young (before 35). I can't really explain this directly from the chart... I would think that Saturn in Aries (Fall) in the tenth (house of career/status/work) and Mars, Lord of the tenth house is in Cancer (also Fall) - gives a very different meaning.

So much so, that when another client (one that I have not met before) with the same configuration, came for consultation, I simply said that he was involved in a huge project when he was young and the project secured his financial freedom. He was stunned and said that that was exactly happened...Though I was not very happy because I was right by going against the very basic rules of astrology!

A highly interesting set of charts! - and I don't think you went against the basic rules of astrology.

Before addressing Mars-Saturn in signs of their fall, my first thoughts go to the very fortunate placements of angular Lords 10 and 7.

L10 in Ascendant is an indicator that honor, dignity and preferment (career success) go to the native and at a young age - opportunity consistently walks in the door, so to speak. In addition, L7 in 10th indicates the native overcomes all adversaries. He/she is either unopposed in their career pursuits, nothing/no one interferes with their path to success or those who try will fail.

Accidental dignity might be suggested as an explanation, but I would not look there. The potency rests with the dual combination L10 in 1st combined with L7 in 10th. At least, that is my experience. I often see a similar result with L10 in 1st when combined with L1 in 10th. If I have time will look through my files for other examples to share.

I realize that I have completely skirted the basic rules for Mars-Saturn in fall. Perhaps their detrimented condition relates to either their field of financial success or the methods they used to achieve it, or both.
