Should I take this course? 1 by dollsizedpistol I have been thinking about taking a 6-week film editing course for a while now. It starts Nov. 12th, so i have to make a decision soon ! I made the chart 10/31 at 2:07am from New York, NY. (how on earth do you post images from astrodienst?? i have been tried the [img] things...?) I see that my planet, Mercury, is conjunct Spica. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it's good, right? I'm not really sure which house to use for the course -- I would think the 9th, but my assumptions are usually wrong when it comes to horary!! If i should use the ninth, it's Aries/Mars.. Mars in 11th house.. bleh, I'm lost. Horary is hard Anyone want to help? Quote Fri Nov 02, 2007 10:31 pm
by Tara I'd take the 3rd house for a 6-week film editing course because it's more practical skill than abstract learning, and the briefness of the course too argues for a 3rd house signification. In which case your significator and the significator for the course are in mutual reception, a very good sign. That with the moon applying to both L1 and L3 seem to say yes. Unfortunately, 0 degrees is rising so it is too early to answer this question. Something is not properly rooted in the situation and the judgment is likely to be misleading. Also your sig is Rx ... stationary actually. Perhaps this shows your indecision? Tara Quote Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:55 pm
by dollsizedpistol so does the fact that zero degrees is rising make the chart basically unreadable? or is it just another part of the answer... that some part of the situation is hidden? should i ask again? Quote Sat Nov 03, 2007 11:47 pm
by Tara Yes, 0 degrees rising makes the chart basically unreadable. It is one of the biggest red flags against trying to read the chart. You could ask again later, but the suggestion of the 0 degrees is that something hasn't quite ripened in regard to the situation that gave rise to the question. Tara Quote Sun Nov 04, 2007 3:03 am
by dollsizedpistol Thanks so much for your help Tara. the early ascendent thing is really interesting to learn, I am reading about it right now... I pulled up the chart and saw that the Asc. is actually at 3 degrees. Does this make it ok? Quote Sun Nov 04, 2007 6:33 am
by Tara Yes it does, the chart is not only radical now but even has hour agreement. I cast the chart on Solar Fire and forgot to adjust the coordinates which made a 2 degree difference. Sorry for any confusion. I usually use Winstar. Given the later ascendant, I would see this as a definite yes. Not only is there hour agreement and mutual reception between significators, but the moon applies to aspect first Venus, then Mercury, and they are in each other's houses. Virgo rising is good for an editor, and Spica conjunct Mercury is also a positive indicator. Vivian Robson says of this "neat, tidy, clever, ingenious .. gain through investment, responsible position." I'd say go for it. Tara Quote Sun Nov 04, 2007 4:49 pm
by dollsizedpistol YES! amazing, I can't thank you enough for your continued help! Now I have to do some studying and learn what exactly everything you said means ... And I will be sure to let you know how it turns out! Quote Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:00 am
by Tara Deb has a tutorial on horary on this site. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/horary1c.html I look forward to hearing how your course turns out. Quote Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:12 pm
FILM COURSE 9 by Julie K Dollsize pistol, The rising degree on SFV6 is 3/47 so the chart can be judged providing it proves to be radical - relates to the self and question in some way. Good luck! Julie K Quote Tue Nov 06, 2007 12:52 am
by dollsizedpistol Well it may be a little early to tell you conclusively how this class has turned out, as I am only three days in ... but so far, it has been wonderful! I am learning so much and I really love what I'm learning. Also, it turns out after each 6 week session, they hire 2 students to be teaching assistants for the next class. AND, I was talking to one of my TAs today and she said her boss needs more people to do research and transcribe incoming interview footage for a documentary, and she would email her about me... this documentary about a man's totally unexpected spiritual awakening, no less! (there is no topic i am more interested in or excited about!) Thank you so much for giving me the push I needed to register for this class. I am loving it. Jordan Quote Thu Nov 15, 2007 6:23 am
by Tara Thanks for updating us, Jordan. And it's wonderful to hear you're so happy with the course. May it continue! Tara Quote Thu Nov 15, 2007 2:37 pm
