Almuten 1 by cosmicdolphin Hi do you use almuten if the main significator is not making any sense? thanks CD Quote Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:40 pm
2 by Andrew Bevan I believe the almuten asks for priority. I always found it a snag that Saturn gathered more essential dignities in Libra by day than Venus. Saturn collects 4 essential dignities by exaltation and 3 by triplicity, while Venus gathers 5 dignities by domicile and 2 in her proper terms. The Moon collects more essential dignities in Taurus by night than Venus , except in the first 8 degrees - which are the terms of Venus. That is how astrology works and we should adjust our jugdement accordingly. Note that Lilly gave priority to the exaltation in matters of competition and war where he said that the exaltation was stronger [ie. more ruthless] than sign rulership. When judging a chart the disposition or lord by exaltation always shows whatever extra-ordinary was going on. In my experience, these stories talk louder and push themselves to the foreground. When judging nativities I often found that the sign of the natives partner was indicated by the almuten of the 7th house and the signs of children were indicated by the almuten of the 5th. Lilly comments the almuten on pages 49, 352, 360 and 426 of Christian Astrology. The almuten provides a testimony of the issue at hand. I hope that gives you some ideas and clues. http://www.astronor.com Quote Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:14 pm
