This Might Be Interesting To Work With 1 by Tom It was announced today that former British PM Tony Blair converted to Catholicism. Is it in his chart? 2 by astrojin Hello ALL, It?s always easy to delineate a chart in retrospect though sometimes it can still be tough when you don?t see any indications. This is why in my consultations I usually ask my clients what they want to know. If they are interested in their financial matters, then I look at the indications in the natal chart and use a few of the predictive methods to estimate when a client is going to get significant amount of money or otherwise. So back to Blair: My working parameters: Whole sign house Egyptian terms (bounds) Dorothean Triplicities (Trigons) First, we observe the general indications in his natal chart (for if it is not indicated in the natal chart, it will not be manifested). Once an indication (probably better if many indications) is spotted in the natal chart, we can then go to the predictive methods (answering when). OK. Religion. Definitely 9th house. Well, we have North Node and Moon in the 9th house. I don?t like to see north node with moon in any chart but we are not discussing his character or soul here. North node in any house points to fated changes in matters connected to that house. The axis of the nodes on 3rd/9th usually indicates change in place/religion but this is only one indication. I noticed this in quite a number of my convert friends. Next, we look at the lord of 9th house. Saturn is in Libra, exalted (also cardinal) conjunct Neptune (if you want to consider the outer planet) and more importantly, it also opposes the planet of change Mercury which is also the ruler of his ascendant, Lot of Spirit (Lot of Spirit 8Virgo43) and his 4th house (his family!). By the way Mercury is also the second triplicity ruler of the ninth which makes it ruler of religion (not Journey) according to Bonatti and Mercury is on the critical degree which shows crisis in that area. Of the two Lots i.e. Lot of spirit and Lot of religion, Lot of religion might have more bearing here as it represents your established religion. The Lot of religion is in 19Leo44 closely conjunct Pluto (if you want to consider him) in the 3rd house (remember the axis 3rd/9th?) which means that it is also in the same house as Ketu. Ketu with your Lot of religion (see?). The dispositor of the Lot of religion is sun in the 12th with Jupiter (the general significator of religion) and it is on the bendings (squaring the nodes ? wide orb but not to be ignored). Isn?t it a coincidence that he changed his religion during his Jupiter/Sun Fridaria! Quote Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:44 am
by Coffee On the day a Mercury Q Mars. Aries intercepted in the 12th. Gemini on 1st /Virgo on 6th. I take it he met the Pope, so Im thinking the 10th from the 9th = 6th for religious leader such as this. A Venus Q Saturn early next year in SP. Then a Saturn trine Venus in SA. Intercepted 12th house (2 intercepted in the 12th) and 6th feature. Most recently in SP a lunar return. Only thing I can think of is the opposite house to the 9th. Not sure what it all means. 4 by Tom Isn?t it a coincidence that he changed his religion during his Jupiter/Sun Fridaria! That is what I noticed. I don' t use firdaria and profections, but I've been skimming Dr. H's e-book on rectification that is promoted elsewhere on the forum and he mentions looking for the influence of the firdaria in the solar return. The news article said Blair, whose wife and children are Roman Catholic, has been attending Mass for several years. The Jupiter Firdar period began in 2004. I don't know if Blair regularly attended Mass before that date. This was no secret and it was even speculated that he would formally convert after he left office. Blair's solar return, cast for the birthplace, has Gemini on the ASC, like his natal chart indicating a significant year. Jupiter is in his own sign of Sagittarius and on the antiscion of Blair's natal 9th house cusp using Placidus houses. Blair's Sun is in the 12th house of the solar return using either Placidus or whole signs. The natal Sun is in the bounds of Jupiter in this Jupiter/Sun period and solar return Jupiter in in the bounds of Mercury, the planet of change. Good work Astrojin. Among other things, You've shown the significance of whole sign houses rather nicely. Tom Quote Sun Dec 23, 2007 2:06 pm
by Andrew In the approach favored by Simmonite and Robson (each of whom used the Placidus system of domification), the rule is that one or more of the hylegical significators (Sol, Luna, Sors, Ascendant and Midheaven) must conjoin or aspect by direction (in longitude or antiscia) the promittor that serves as the significator of the ninth house. Additionally, the significator that conjoins or aspects by direction the ruler of the ninth house may be reinforced by a planet conjoined by transit to its directed position or by aspect or conjunction to its natal position. This constitutes a fin-de-si?cle, neo-traditional approach, worked out according to theories taken from Renaissance astrology, seen through the lens of Victorian era astrology. The significator of the ninth house is Saturn, conjoined with Neptune as well as the powerful fixed stars Spica and Arcturus, in the twenty-third degree of Libra (in the sixth house) by longitude, and in the seventh degree of Pisces (in the eleventh house) by antiscia. The Midheaven by direction is inconjunct to natal Saturn and Neptune in longitude, and is conjoined to Uranus by transit (which itself is in waning trine to its natal place) and conjoined to the powerful fixed star Achernar. Sors (Fortunae) by direction is in opposition to natal Neptune and Saturn, and its natal position (conjoined to the powerful fixed star Fomalhaut) is in sextile to Jupiter and conjoined to the Head of the Dragon by transit. These seven factors alone are enough to suggest some activity related to matters of religion and conscience. Celebrate the Solstice ... Andrew Quote Sun Dec 23, 2007 7:55 pm
by ### As someone who likes the houses displayed proportionally rather than equal size in order to not distort the zodiac and aspects, I also approached this chart with Whole Sign houses. I absolutely refuse to consider a distorted northern chart ? such charts look too ?wrong?. We shouldn?t forget the more familiar things like the secondary progressed lunar return of the natal 9th house Moon that Coffee mentioned. Now using Equal Houses in order to continue with the Asc. degree for house cusps (remember: cusps are house power points, not house beginnings) the progressed Moon conjoined the 9th cusp last May and conjoined the natal Moon November 5th . That looks like it nicely follows developments. The 3rd house early on had religious significations. I believe it settled into 9th: mainstream religion, 3rd: heretical or at least out-of-the-mainstream religion. The nodal axis has already been mentioned. A current or former prime minister leaving the Anglican Church for catholicism is not mainstream. In Whole Sign and Equal houses the natal Moon in 9 is applying square natal Sun, ruler of 3rd. The progressed lunar return has activated that square. The natal Sun is in the 12th house, the 9th from the 4th: The natal Moon in Blair?s 9th house is applying square the Sun in the house of the parent?s/ancestor?s religion. In the natal chart 9th house ruler Saturn is opposed 4th house ruler Mercury. Currently, transiting Saturn, ruler of natal 9th , is conjunct ? and recently stationed Rx on ? the Part of Spirit, which is ruled by Mercury (opposed Saturn natally). In another thread talking about Worsdale and primary directions Tom mentioned him and others directing the planets clockwise, but the angles counter-clockwise. So, I?ve managed to come up with converse primary mundane directed MC conjunct natal Jupiter (religion) on November 8th, within 3 days of the progressed lunar return. For Blair personally Jupiter signifies social standing (10th) and the spouse (7th). I have been finding that the directed or progressed MC is often an activator and gets things going, and there was talk of the Jupiter firdar(-ia?) period. Maybe these converse primary mundane directed angles are ok? Quote Sun Dec 23, 2007 8:29 pm
by Coffee Ah Tom, maybe that could explain the SP lunar return - his wifes religion -3rd house. It is a change, but nothing drastic like converting to Islam. Like changing premiership clubs rather than getting a transfer over to Spain (or Italy!) Quote Mon Dec 24, 2007 7:50 am
