Shingles - Fire of Hell

1
I had a horary today with a Cancer Ascendant and the Moon intercepted in the 6th at 01SG50. The topic was health. The client reported a sever attack of the shingles some 3 years ago - that lasted for 2 years. This was her reply to my prompting whether there was any noticable change in her condition some 2 years ago - following up on a direction of the Moon from Scorpio to Sagittarius.

In Norwegian the shingles is called "The Fire of Hell". This seems a so appropriate description when the sigificator is stuck in the transition from the Hell of Scorpio to the Fire of Sagittarius.

Your post fascinated me; I had just completed an analysis of a chart you posted a few months ago. The chart seemed to be saying "shingles" to me; the question was about whether the querent would give up her current job and go into healing full time. Of course, this descriptive element of the chart was not central to the question being asked. But it seemed to fit your observation of Chiron (who I normally would overlook, as I'm pretty much a stickler for Lilly) conjunct the Moon. Chiron being given the signification of the wounded healer.

I wonder if you are speaking of the same querent, perhaps. Not really imperative for me to know, but at any rate I wanted to share with you how I see shingles reflected in the chart.

This is why I saw shingles on the chart of Nov 16, 2007:

Mars is retrograde on the ascendant, indicating a recurring (retrograde) condition affecting the querent's body (ascendant) which is hot and painful (Mars). Cancer indicates the upper chest, an area where shingles frequently appear. With Mars so close to the horizon, I would expect to see the outbreak affecting the querent's side (that's not Lilly's rule, I've just seen it happen quite often); Mars is in a feminine sign, so on the left side.

Mars also rules a viral illness, which modern medicine singles out as the cause of shingles.

Perhaps I will have an opportunity to post my observations on the Nov. 16th chart later.

Well wishes,

Pam
